I’m not surprised they have a strong protection streak. I am actually MORE afraid of the little dogs than I am the big molossers. Yorkies are my nemeses, but that’s a personal thing.
Currently, I have the weirdest breed of dog that I’d never even heard of until this one was literally thrust into my arms in a parking lot one rainy morning. A Carolina dog. They’re feral and weird, but loveable.
I have heard of those and heard they were great dogs.
You know what the best thing about a Feist is? Even though they have some JRT DNA they are usually a better natured less snappy dog. I had two JRT’s before these that passed of old age and I love a JRT but most I have been around were quick to snap first and look later. The Feists have a really sweet and gentle nature.
I can relate to the feral part. I have two big Curs outside that are half Black Mouth Cur and half feral. Great dogs but the feral gene shows itself sometimes. :-)
