A few weeks ago, I was talking to a relatively high-level sports executive about the election, which is to say we were discussing something terrible Donald Trump had said or done. We agreed that Trump was likely to lose. But he could always still win even Nate Silver says that, I remarked.
The executive then said something that stunned me, though the more and more I think about it, the more sense it makes. If Trump wins, or if he refuses to concede, Im telling you right now: There wont be any sports for a month, he said. Maybe more. These kids just wont stand for it.

Thanks for the warning idiot
Who gives a rat’s rear-end? Since Covid, I have watched a total of about 12 hours of sports...and that was a good week or so for me before Covid. Haven’t missed it...been hanging out more with my family and discovering music I never knew about on YouTube and other places.
My daughter plays college lacrosse, and I would miss seeing that, but I could not care less about the rest.
Author is a doosh.
OK I’m still failing to see the downside to both scenarios.
“These Kids” have already destroyed a huge chunk of their market share for their product and will soon be reaping smaller salaries as a result. I for one welcome them to take off as much time as they want.
“If Trump wins, or if he refuses to concede, Im telling you right now: There wont be any sports for a month, he said. Maybe more.””
This will be just another liberal broken promise.
Well, there is currently a labor shortage in the fast food industry.
If college athletes don’t play sports, will they go to class?
Nobody would notice.......................
Good news from Big Media!
Even a broken clock...
ummmm do I really care- not one bit. no play no pay and they can go back to the hood where they slithered from and see how that works for them
“discovering music I never knew about on YouTube and other places”
I discovered Andre Rieu just before the scamdemic. Bought tickets to see him in Las Vegas, then the concert was cancelled.
I guess I’m about the only person who never heard of him.
Good. I hope Hollywood shuts down.
So?
Will they stop getting paid, too?
That would be a shame. /s
Anything if they will just shut up.
COOL!
