When Democrats Hate What They Vote For
American Thinker ^ | 27 Oct,2020 | Parker Beauregard

Most Democrat in 2020 have no conceptual understanding of what voting Democrat actually means.

Californians are fleeing in record numbers for red states like Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. New York City is emptying out as people with means relocate; many are going to Florida. For reasons only the Heavens know, there are normal people still living in Portland.

It is not hard to see what is happening: People are fed up with the overreach of Democrat-monopolized government. Their policies are inhibiting the possibility of retaining personal independence and achieving any sense of self-fulfillment. This is on top of not being able to provide basic safety to citizens.

Once these blue state refugees resettle, will they reflect on what drove them out and change their own beliefs and value systems? Based on my interactions with them, I am not optimistic.

In the age of coronavirus, my place of work requires all employees to submit a daily self-screener prior to reporting for duty on campus. It’s a simple test, asking if any symptoms like runny nose, headache, fever, and other basic ailments have presented within the last 24 hours.

A colleague of mine, a vocal critic of President Trump and ostensible masker who has made a point to email her supervisors about the lack of 100% mask compliance among peers, arrived at work this past week emphatically distraught. She had failed her wellbeing self-assessment that morning, ignored the next step of calling our health consultant, and came in anyways. We finally got her to comply with calling in and eventually going home, but it took way too much effort. Any effort in this matter is too much.

Absolutely. They stomp their feet and scream like a 5 year old being told they can’t have a new toy.

This captures the idiocy of the entire situation in two sentences.

I had a similar situation with a client of mine a few weeks ago. I was supposed to fill out a "self-check safety form" ON A DAILY BASIS to document steps I'm required to take in my own place of business as part of a project we're working on. At first I considered refusing to fill it out. That would have been impractical since I probably would not have been allowed to work for this client under that contract.

I realized that the purpose of the form was to protect the client's staff whenever they came to my office to work on the assignment. So I figured out a great alternative. I told the client: "This process is such a pain in the ass. It will be easier if my staff works on the entire assignment ourselves. We don't need your help. How does that sound?"

To my surprise, they agreed. They sounded almost relieved over it.

This is why I'm now in Month #8 of the busiest period I've had since I established my own company several years ago.

An ex-friend of mine and her father, both classic liberal New York Jews, are perfect examples of this. They both hate high taxes for themselves, neither ever want to be told what to do on ANYTHING... but they vote Left as religiously as the sun coming up. Her father literally voted New York into the tax burden it is, and then moved to Florida because “I’m not paying those taxes!” Now he’s in Florida, voting for higher taxes. They are truly warped somehow. I mean... I honestly believe something’s wrong with them both.

Hard for me to discern which woman made me smile the largest. Perhaps it had to be the Bernie supporting woman, but the Karen who complained about the face masks was a close second. Neither of them seem to grasp that consequences are associated with their beliefs, yet they still hold on tightly to their beliefs, even after the effects of those beliefs come back to bite them in their rear ends. Some people just cannot seem to learn from their own mistakes I guess.

For most liberals, politics is their faith, a severe and uncompromising faith that rejects reason and practical accommodation. The result is that most liberals are rank hypocrites, like corrupt but doctrinally pure Renaissance cardinals with mistresses on the side and spies and cut throats on their payroll.

We have New Yorkers flooding into all of Connecticut and they are driving up rents and real estate prices. Houses are selling for above asking price within 24 hours of being listed. I’ve never seen anything like this happen in this state. It must suck in New York if they are flocking to a democrat dump like CT.

Nor am I. Liberalism is a mental disorder. I know too many people moving out of urban war zones into red areas and bringing their destructive voting patterns with them. Total cognitive dissonance.

The Democrats are not really offering something to vote for...they are only offering a place for those who hate Trump to cast their votes.

Voting against a POTUS rarely works unless you can offer a different, positive vision.

Biden has offered nothing that voters can rely upon....he has already waffled so much that his policies are really unknown and unreliable.

Neither of them seem to grasp that consequences are associated with their beliefs...

They are voting as virtue signalers - they want government to promote the "general good" on their behalf...but preferably with someone else's tax dollars.

I think you’re right. They believe their influence on others is more important than whether they themselves adhere to their own standards.

After all, the goal of the Left is a better world, not personal betterment by its adherents.

Yes. In fact, when I ask them why they don’t want to pay more in taxes to bring about the betterment, they answer (essentially) that when everyone else has done it first, then they will do it. They won’t be good till everyone else is perfect.

“When Democrats Hate What They Vote For”

Their simple solution to that problem is to blame others for it, always. As long as, in their own minds, it’s not their fault, they’re fine with it.

Logically, that leads to the rejoinder that you and everyone else are waiting for them to go first, to lead by example.
