I am in the market for a new mattress, our memory foam mattress has given out, and I've ended up sleeping in a 'trench' for the past few months and it's time to replace it with a new one.
At 5'10" and about 185, I'm not a monster who has smashed the bed.
I'm certainly open to another memory foam type, it was very good when it was newer, but I'd like to hear from others.
What are you using, how satisfied are you with your choice, and how long have you had it?
Thanks to everyone who takes time to respond.
LOL! Yeah — that OTHER one.
We bought the Serta in ‘03, according to the ‘Do Not Remove Under Penalty of Law!’ tag. lol We flip it about twice a year and always use a quality mattress cover. It still sleeps well and provides great support. I’m a side sleeper.
I have a split king adjustable base but not from Purple.
Remote control and app control.
We have a single king Purple mattress Which is floppy enough to work with the 2 bases.
I sleep with my upper body elevated.
I dont know this brand but good picture.
I dont know a great mattress, but I know that at a hotel the Sleep Number mattress in the room kept losing air. I called the hotel lobby and they answer was to send someone up to work on it at 3 am. NO!
I looked at a purple mattress, but passed on it when I learned you can’t use a heating pad.
I have a hybrid with an adjustable base. Not perfect but I dont like the solid foam types.

We bought a Tuft and Needle for us and then a Puffy mattress for the guest room. We like the Puffy mattress much better. Tuft and Needle is too soft; its now in the guest room.
BedJet is the best thing I have ever purchased. Look it up. Better than an electric blanket or heated mattress pad.
thanks, we’ll have to look into that- flat beds aint good for sleep apnea and acid reflux-
ping for mattress
Flip your mattress and put a 2-3 inch gel topper on over it for about $120. We put one on our old mattress about 5 years ago and it’s still holding up. Ours was from Costco $132.00 but Bed, Bath and Beyond has a better price.
Mine’s a cowgirl from Fort Smith. Be sure an get the Rodeo Cowgirl. Mine said she was a Champion Polebender. She warn’t wrong. I sleep like a log.
with the single mattress, wouldn’t that be kinda awkward if one sleeps sitting up and hte other doesn’t? or is it felxible enough to do both?
Pardon the question but what is BB?
We got one from Tuft and Needle a couple years ago. It’s very comfortable. I’m not all that particular though. Throughout the normal year, I sleep in 50-80 hotel beds, a few nights on camp air mattresses and a handful of night hanging between two trees in my hammock.
If you like firm as in super duper firm I can highly recommend the Titan Mattress by Brooklyn bedding. It is very firm for lighter people like me. (200 Lbs) I really like a firm mattress and this is by far the nicest I have ever had. I dont expect a trough in it ever. Heavy duty for “fatties” so everything is built like a tank. Came in a smallish box. Once you break the seal it expands like crazy. How they compress and roll the inner spring structure I dont fully understand but it is much better than the other (way more expensive) mattresses I have owned.
I’ve heard that “K. Harris” is an excellent brand of mattress. My friend Willie gave me the recommendation.
Costco sells mattresses too.
If you don’t like it return it they will pickup.

I heard that also-takes a licking and keeps on ticking...
There was a college girl a few years ago that carried her mattress wherever she went. Maybe you can find her and get an expert opinion.
