Early adoption in law. Daylight Saving Time has been used in the U.S. and in many European countries since World War I. At that time, in an effort to conserve fuel needed to produce electric power, Germany and Austria took time by the forelock, and began saving daylight at 11:00 p.m. on April 30, 1916, by advancing the hands of the clock one hour until the following October.

Forelock-grabbing is a lost art.
Adding or subtracting an hour has to have an impact on global warming.
“Just go to Standard (real) Time forever. That will end it.”
“Standard” time is not an act of nature. It was put into play around 1880 by the railway magnates, by way of Congress, to standardize time for commerce. Before then, each hamlet/state had their own “standard” time. So people had to accustom themselves to the new standard.
I guess I am the only one that likes the change of clocks. I live near the ocean and can chart the sunrise across the skies from winter to summer and back. I’ll take the early sunrises. I wish we had reset two weeks ago.
This is the worst time of the year for me.
Pretty leaves of red and orange?
Phooey! They have to be raked.
Hot cocoa in front of a roaring fire?
Phooey! That firewood has to be cut and split.
Autumn leads to winter, which is as miserable as the season preceding it. Fire up the snowblower. Freeze my a$$ off. Scrape the windshield and drive through all that slush and salt.
The only upside is looking forward to spring which, at my age, always seems a long way off, and I hope I make it.
GET ME OUT OF THE NORTHEAST!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!
I think it’s great to have more daylight at the end of the work day to engage in outdoor activities.
Get out of the blue northeast states and hie thyself down to the red state, Florida.....(as soon as you can....).......Florida is warmer and Trumpier !

Time to change the batteries in the
Tactical flashlight...
My Dad told me they had double daylight savings time during WWII.
It’s Daylight Saving Time. There is no “S” at the end of Saving.
That's for another time and another government.
