SAN ANTONIOA man who was arrested in 2018 amid allegations he drugged and sexually assaulted two women whom he served while working at Viva TacoLand is now suing his accusers after the criminal charge was dismissed earlier this month.
Dillonger Hackett was arrested in April 2018 after a woman and her girlfriend told officers Hackett drugged their drinks at Viva Tacoland where Hackett worked as a bartender. One of the women told police she woke up in their room at Hotel Emma and recalled Hackett sexually assaulting her.
Hackett spent more than 90 days behind bars before he was released under a provision of the law which calls for the release of individuals whose cases have not been presented to a grand jury within 90 days from when they are arrested.(snip)
Hackett, his attorneys said, was required to wear an ankle monitor for the two years following his release. The years of awaiting trial ceased in early October when Powers dismissed the sexual assault charge against Hackett, citing insufficient evidence.
Records show the case was never presented to a grand jury for consideration.(snip)
Meanwhile, Hacketts attorney Angela Tabares, said, This was completely sensationalized from the beginning.
Tabares, an associate at Cesar Ornelas Law, alleged there was hotel surveillance video that depicted Hackett and the two women completely coherent, entering the hotel, being very friendly with each other, hugging each other. She added that, through the criminal case, it was revealed the women did not have drugs in their system after toxicology screens were performed.
(Police) just heard Tacoland, drugged drinks and ran with it, Tabares said.

Good. This needs to happen more often.
I don't 'believe women'. I believe facts.
Cops squandering what little support they don’t deserve but still enjoy.
Sounds like those two just about ruined his life, and without proving guilt. This is how people wind up ‘suddenly missing’, when the victim of their lies has had enough unfair treatment.
He should not have been in jail for 90 days.
Filthy sluts need to do 90 days each in addition to the lawsuit.
“Forget it, Jake. It’s Tacoland.”
And they make you pay exorbitant “rental” fees for those ankle monitors. The criminal justice system is criminal and it’s a system, but there is no justice.
Oh come on, if you are talking about the photo in #2, the 'Cops' were only making the arrest, the malfeasance was the local prosecution. He was jailed but the prosecution couldn't find enough evidence for a grand jury in 90 days? This is not the 'Cops' fault or misbehavior, sorry!
“Cops squandering what little support they dont deserve but still enjoy.”
This really had nothing to do with the cops.
Yes.
” ... the prosecution couldn’t find enough evidence for a grand jury in 90 days?”
Apparently, the prosecutor could *never* find enough evidence to present to a grand jury.
Good for him! I hope he wins.
Actually the primary blame lays with the cops. They have no business making an arrest without evidence leading to probable cause. An accusation alone is not sufficient.
In almost every state an arrest based only on the accusation must be backed up with significant evidence that the accuser is being truthful.
The video evidence of the hotel was there.
The absence of any drug being found on him or in his workplace ...is evidence.
This was shoddy police work based on the “believe women” thing. Yes, the DA has the next responsibility to be a circuit breaker, but the cops should have investigated, and forwarded a case for the DA to present to the grand jury. Until then they had no business arresting him.
Destroy her, root and branch. If there were justice on earth (which there is not), she would also be criminally charged, and if convicted, sentenced to twice the sentence that he could have received.
Good for him! Punch back twice as hard!
JoMa
Flame away, but Im going to say that going to bed with drunk women that you dont know is usually not a good idea.
“I don’t ‘believe women’. I believe facts.”
A good policy, we all know that there are a lot of lying men in the world but I have long been amazed at the number of both men and women who think for whatever reason that women are far less likely to lie than men. I have seen zero evidence for that viewpoint.
