...message on the restaurant's Facebook page and on the restaurant marquee that it will not shut down its dining room. This, despite Gov. JB Pritzker's order on Tuesday that indoor dining and bar service in DuPage County be suspended starting Friday to slow the spread
Ki's Steak and Seafood Restaurant, is DuPage County's longest standing restaurant, in business since 1934.
We wont allow DICTATOR PRITZKER to abandon our friends once again! We will stand up for our rights and freedom!"
"The outpouring of support has been off the charts. It's heartwarming and a good feeling," Roumpas said. "I wasn't trying to be a firebrand. I wanted to stay open, and state the facts."
"You can go into Menard's and buy a screwdriver. Nothing against them, but I don't how that is essential business and there's 500 people there at any given time, as opposed to my restaurant. I guess coronavirus doesn't go into those kinds of stores. I think everybody should be open."
He has received calls of support from people at the village of Glendale Heights, and from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. Attorneys called Roumpas Wednesday to tell him that he is 100% within his rights.
"I'm sure there's threats that the state police could come, they can fine us if we refuse to close, hopefully not bring me to jail," Roumpas said. "They can threaten our liquor license but we have legal standing. They need a court order to shut us down. I'm not trying to pick a fight with the governor. I'm just trying to keep my business running."

Just down the road from me. Great place with great food.
He only has a chance for success if the restaurant is filled with supporters every day. If he is arrested, someone else needs to manage affairs.
This is tyranny.
It's Chicago. Until all Democrats are expunged, we have a problem.
You're obviously not from around these parts are ya?
“not even in the same county as Chicago”
DuPage County, once a bastion of conservatism.
As they crap up Chicago and Cook County, they move here and bring the BS with them.
I see signs just like that in my area.
Some are catching on to the fat bastard.
Broadway is shut down until mid-2021
No night life in blue states. Precious little in red states.
People gotta eat, including actors, musicians, et al.
Oh, but you DO have a right to health care, according to sleepy, creepy, corrupt Joe bin Hiden. Not sure where thats in the constitution, but if old Joe says its so...
Hes not the only one. Not a single local pub near us is going to comply. And theyre being backed up by the County Board, the DuPage Sheriff, and the local Police Departments.
The Health Department has been told not to do anything unless they receive a formal written complaint.

Its not Chicago. Its not even in Cook County.

I recall when I drove down Ogden Ave and saw corn fields past Downers Grove. Used to go pheasant hunting on a farm outside of Naperville. Any gun stores, like Bell's, on Mannheim, just south of the bridge over the IC yards? There used to be Jerry's, on 47th, in Brookfield.
But, that was on the Sunny Slopes of Long Ago.
Chicago, and it's foul influence, USED to end at I-294. Now, it's past Aurora.
Did you know that, in other states, cops don't accept bribes? A $50 clipped to your driver's license won't get you out of a ticket. Weird. It would work as far out as Kankakee county
People who haven’t been in the Loop in 20 years still know that the other end of the Burlington Line is just as corrupt and Democrat.
The end of the Burlington is in Aurora which has been over run by illegals, gangs, and Dems for decades. The rest of Kane is very normal.

I too remember driving down Ogden Ave. and seeing cornfields. that was .... 35 years ago now? Yikes, time flies.
I purchased my first HnK handgun at Jerry's on 47th in Brookfield so many years ago now. Dang, we probably crossed paths back in those days.
BTW: DuPage County Sheriff announced they will not be enforcing Prickster's illegal lockdown rules and won't be closing restaurants that stay open. We'll see what happens.
I lived in Will County for 35 years, recently crossed back over the Crook County Line to Orland Park. Orland's Mayor told Pricster to shove it and is actually going to protect restaurants that stay open.
Revolution is brewing in Illinois. We'll see if it takes root and manages to actually do something.
My mother, in her 90's, lives in an assisted apartment in North Aurora, and says the exact same thing.
