A 29-yard field goal for a professional kicker or a college kicker or most high-school kickers should be automatic. Keep that in mind.
On Thursday, a bettor made a big play on the Philadelphia Eagles-New York Giants game. He or she put $250,000 on the Eagles -3 in the first half. The payout would have been $488,095.25.
OK, back to the 29-yard field goal.

How about this bad beat at Gulfstream three years ago?

That game was so ridiculous. The whole NFL East is dumb. The team leading the division (Cowboys) have a losing record.
Eagles had no business winning that game after playing grabass throughout.
I was wondering what would be the theoretical least amount of wins required to win the division.
Children visiting the practice field at the Atlanta College Hall of Fame Museum kick farther than that everyday.
Gosh, a story on Free Republic about the unamerican activity called the NFL. How droll.
I figure it’s 4.
Each team goes 3-3 in the division then loses the other 10 games.
Hmmm....3-12-1 could still win.
Four teams tied at 3-13?
Eagles did beat SF, tied Cincy
Cowboys beat Falcons
So it does require 4 wins.
...except they didn't play grabass for the final 6ish minutes.
That's the great thing about sports...you get destroyed if you don't play the entire game. Or, as was said so eloquently...
About a decade ago a kicker for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL shanked a 16 yard field goal attempt that kept his team from going to the Grey Cup.
When he got back home somebody had dumped a one-ton load of manure on his front walk.
The bookies (or rather the money men behind them) are going to win - one way or another.
Thats true but it has nothing to do with the outcome of the games. In general they dont care which side wins or loses; they make money by equalizing bets each way and paying out less than even money to the winners.
I see you this jerk’s 200K and raise you the 4 fantasy points my opponent with the Eagles D got at the end of the game cause that clown Jones let the ball get popped out of his hand.
That said, I haven't felt that happy about an Eagles game ending since the double doink. What was even more inspiring was that Brandon "I strip-sacked Brady, too" Graham did the deed last night.
