Doesn't look like duct tape will work for this mess.

Those things are huge. A blade can be larger than a tractor-trailer. Such a wind turbine is whirling three of those blades at one time.

I saw a bunch of these being hauled around on trucks last year when I visited S.D.
I had no idea what scale they were up close - absolutely massive.

Unless people have been up close to these beasts they don't realize how huge they are.

The farmer who rents the field says he’s not a fan of wind turbines.
I bet if he owned the land and received a royalty on the energy produced he’d sing a different tune.

And when they reach the end of their life cycle, they aren’t recyclable. They are simply cut up and buried.

And when they reach the end of their life cycle, they arent recyclable. They are simply cut up and buried. It is a public service. They are creating a "find" for future archeologists.

I know a guy who's currently doing a deal for his farmland to be used for a $20 million Solar Energy Project. Just a few years ago the oil companies Fracked his property as well. So he'll be getting royalties from both.

Nine freaking tons per blade? That’s amazing!
I can’t imagine that the profit can sustain the maintenance costs.
Same for solar farms.

I count at least two workers inside the one in the pic you posted. They have a bunch of these along mountain ridges back home, and even at a distance, you can see how gargantuan they are. If a blade snapped off and hit someone, they’d be pulverized in a microsecond.
