It's rather sad to see William Shatner, Pat Boone, Tom Selleck and Charlie Sheen reduced to selling stuff;(
Hollywood is over!
William Devane is a B list actor at best, but boy that guy oozes coolness from every pore. And you are right, it’s almost nauseating to see Tom Selleck selling reverse mortgages.
An aunt and uncle of mine were big time horse people and horse show goers.
They were at some horse show and William Shatner was there with his horse(s).
Anyway, he couldn’t quite get on the horse by himself. Some people had to put some effort to get him in the saddle. A few seconds later, the horse dumped Shatner and took off.
Sometime in the 80s if memory serves.

I thought this was about old advertisements, like Robert de Nero hawking cars in 1969-1970.
Remember John Wayne selling headache pills back in the 1970s?
James Coburn shaving in electric razor commercials in the early 1960s A one minute commercial at that!
Robert Young advertising something after Marcus Welby ceased production, and way too many more.
And who can forget 1971 Ann Miller singing and dancing in a Busby Berkley advertisement for the Great-Great-Great-American Soups!
Red Skelton had TIDE detergent placed throughout his early shows.
Stan Freberg produced the Busby Berkeley-style musical.
Spot?
Cal Worthington’s dog “Spot”? The pig? or lion? or whatever?
I have never seen Boston Legal. I had no idea there were more clips of him firing off his guns! Thanks, I loved ‘em!
I though maybe John Wayne resisted but a quick search revealed many of them. He did abhor the small screen refusing a tv series of any kind.
I saw a Magazine picture (?) on line with a quote from Tom Selleck about how long he and his husband had been together.
I don’t care who marries who, just kinda surprised me.
Very funny if you only watched the balcony scenes at the end of the show, otherwise sickeningly liberal.
“The self-deprecating quality of Shatner’s commercials is why he made a HUGE amount of money in them—”
I remember when he was on SNL back in the day. He did a bit about being at a sci-fi convention. He was giving his “audience” hell asking if they had a life, if they ever intended to grow up, if they had ever seen a girl, all kinds of stuff.
A guy eases up to him and tells him “Mr Shatner, those people bought the tickets that paid you to be here.”
Shatner shuts up then goes into full Captain Kirk mode.
Pretty funny.
According to his Wikipedia profile Selleck has been married to someone named Jilly Mack since 1987.
