This is an update on an earlier thread.

Looking more like a January start for Carnival from Florida. And of course the CDC could kibosh that. Tom

Ya know, even the people I know that think that this whole thing has been blown completely out of proportion and don’t like wearing masks...

even they are hesitant to go on a cruise.

People watching too many TV movies :)

Getting support from a Judge, the CDC gets more support from this article today - to put off Cruises in our country until March, as Dr. Redfield from the CDC has stated.

Today, October 22, the Judge has cut CARNIVAL some slack in the 60 day delay before cruising. -Tom

According to The Miami Herald, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Florida, Patricia Seitz, ruled that Carnival would need to validate the environmental protection status for each ship in the company’s fleet 30 days before they reenter American waters.

This judge is really bad. All of her punitive requirements for the 12 hrs they spend in a US port? Or make all Carnival ships comply due to violations of a few cruise ships which cruised Alaskan waters?

Does she know what foreign ports are like? Or the cost imparted to American ports, companies and workers? This is the type of heavy-handed environmental dicta that led to the destruction of STS-107.
