Yesterday (Oct. 16), Five Finger Death Punch released a music video for "Living the Dream." The video was rife with social commentary, some of which has been met with backlash for the way people who wear a mask to mitigate the spread of a pandemic contagion) are compliant under a Communist system of government or one that resembles such. Guitarist Zoltan Bathory has issued a lengthy statement, clarifying the intent behind the video, denying it bears an anti-mask message.
In his statement, Bathory alleges news media outlets forewent explaining what his message in the "Living the Dream" video was in favor of intentionally misleading readers for capital gain. He urges that among the metaphors present in the video (toilet paper hoarding zombies, overweight superheroes with ill-advised diet habits), the scenes regarding the "compliance" in mask wearing should be viewed as fictional as well.

I often say, ask us!!! The immigrants... the Cubans, the Venezuelans, the North Koreans, anyone from the former Soviet block... Talk to us and we will tell you .... WE were lucky, because we had a place to escape to. We are fortunate that we could come here.... but If America is gone, where will you go? ---------
This is what the founding fathers worried about and tried to prevent by creating the constitution. Believe it. America is a miracle, and I LOVE this country... and I will never shut up about it
It is likely an awkward headline but the musician (guitarist) was born in Hungary and his band produced a video that some took as supporting freedom and opposing Communism through commentary opposed to wearing masks.
these guys visited and supported our troops a lot overseas during the wars.
Here’s the video...
Watched it through. The left is going to *hate* this video. You can already see their little NPCs in the comments and the down votes. But it has a powerful message well beyond simple masks.
I like their music. Now that I read this, I like them even more!!!!
I saw them live in Ft Wayne, and sorry to say, they were terrible live performers. It totally turned me off the band, because they have great studio sound, and it was a huge letdown.
The band responds to the controversy
Unrelated to the story, they just got a new lead guitarist, Andy James. Great player.
Well, looks like a new song is going to be making the playlist. I like these guys. They are big supporters of our troops. And theyve made some good music. Including covers of Blue on Black, Bad Company, and House of the Rising Sun
Good stuff. I wasn’t sure how many here on FR knew of the band but thought the societal and political elements from a person who experienced what appears to be the Democrats’ vision would suffice.
