He'll be remembered chiefly as the third most talented guy in CSN who did time on drug and gun charges, and is the genetic father of Melissa Etheridge's children.
A few days after he's gone, Crosby will be forgotten except for a bunch of aging hippies and commies...maybe he's jealous.
Btw, Dee's a putz but I like his comment.
He doesn’t care he will just say well I already got your money.
OMG
An argument on twitter about musicians!
OMG
David Crosby is a dopehead has been!!!!
Nobody.
This dude abused his body his entire life and because he’s rich... He got somebody’s liver, and he likely stole it from someone poorer and more deserving.
What a soy boy libtard!
Yeah well, Crosby probably thinks Neil Young is a legendary guitarist.
Meh.
Crosby is very talented, having initiated Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. But he is also an ingrate, a man who served time for a weapons charge, received a liver transplant, and continues his hatred for the beauty of this nation which is why he is still alive. FU Crosby, your horse, guitar and your liver, given to you a donor you will never know. FU INGRATE!!!
Dee Snyder had to throw his two cents in too. Nobody’s asking ‘what does Dee think about this?’
Van Halen was technically a good band, but many of such bands were more about making noise than making music; in my opinion. I kind of liked Whitesnake for a while, but I already had my full dose of hard rock via groups like Led Zeppelin, King Crimson and (early) Queen.
What would you expect from a drunken drug addict burnout like
David?
Maybe he’s jealous. Eddie had it all - good looks and talent, plus a nice personality.
I wasnt that big a Van Halen fan either. They were OK. I did see them in 78 with Cheap Trick and Graham Parker. Market Square Arena, Indianapolis. It was a pretty good show.
Anyways, his regards were warmer than I would've expected.
I don’t care.
Miss Manners or Ann Landers would know how to act in this situation. Maybe your private opinion is “meh” you just don’t state it publicly - out of basic human decency and respect m
Pure jealousy and resentment. Jealousy that EVH’s talent was recognized and profoundly respected. Resentment that ‘his’ own music, is scarcely remembered. What he’s remembered for is a rotten liver and being able to buy a new one with the money from ‘his’ music.
He looks more like Cap'N Crunch.
He's also a hack. Had it not been for the Wrecking Crew, the real musicians that played on those early Byrds and other albums, Crosby would be just another burned out boomer.
Bob Dylan wrote, “Mr. Tambourine Man.”
Pete Seeger wrote, “Turn Turn Turn.”
Joni Mitchell wrote, “Woodstock.”
Graham Nash wrote, “Teach Your Children Well,” “Just a Song Before I Go,” and “Our House.”
Neil Young wrote, “Ohio.”
Timothy B. Schmidt wrote, “Wasted on the Way.”
Rick and Michael Curtis wrote, “Southern Cross.”
Stephen Stills wrote, “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.”
NONE of the hits of any of the bands he was in was he an important part of. He’s a f***ing RHYTHM guitarist for a folk band. This ass hat probably doesn’t even know whay Eddie Van Halen is famous. Niel Young would’ve bitch-smacked him.
Hell, he probably doesn’t even know why Jimi Hendrix was so famous... because Crosby, unlike Young, just plays straight, simple chords.
Meh....Crosby has never been anything special
Eddie was a modern day pioneer of the guitar, with a few guitar patents to boot (so I've heard)
All I know is, that in high school when Van Halen I came out it sent a shock wave through the parking lot at lunch time, LOL!
Also, the sound quality of Van Halen recordings is extremely rich. Kudos to the recording engineer!
"Jamie's cryiin', wow wowwwwwww.." YEAH! One of the great rock and roll albums of all time.
RIP, Eddie!
