My mom is almost 99. She’s not completely enjoying it, although she is still functional, fully in control of her faculties. As she told me: I’m still 22 inside, but I’m inside a very restrictive cage. My son and other daughter are gone, my husband is gone, my friends are gone. I’m bored.

The trick, my FRiend, is to have hobbies that demand a tomorrow.

If you don’t have some, get some!

You are blessed to still have your mother. Prayers up for the 2 of you.

I lost my dear mother in 2007 at the age of 94, just about 6 weeks shy of 95. She outlived all of her siblings and their spouses and all of my father’s siblings, except one, and all of the spouses of those siblings except one. And my father was the eldest of 11 kids!

” I’m bored.”

She needs weed and Amazon Prime Video.

I can relate to “friends are gone”. I reached 80 this year, and my friends are all gone. And it is difficult to make new friends at 80 since the activities are limited. No more college, no more jobs, no more private golf club, all those places were great for making friends.
