Is the United States losing its grip on world supremacy? Many people in Germany feel that it is and that China will be the country to take its place as dominant power in the coming decades, a new survey shows.
Some 42% of Germans feel that the United States is likely to slip from its position as leading world power in the next few decades, with China moving up to replace it, a survey published on Tuesday has shown.
Just 14% of those surveyed by the UK-based YouGov polling institute believed that the US would retain its supremacy. Some 23% were undecided and 22% gave no response to the survey question, "Which country, the US or China, will be more powerful in the course of the next 50 years, in your opinion?"
Opinions on the issue varied depending on which party respondents voted for. Supporters of the Left Party tended in the majority to predict China's future dominance over the US (54%), as did supporters of the business-friendly Free Democrats and the environmentalist Greens (52%).
Voters who support the far-right Alternative for Germany party were the most likely to say that the US would remain as dominant world power but even here, only 17% responded in that vein.
The survey was carried out from July 10-12, with 4,054 people aged 18 and over taking part.

That was then. China today is inventing and producing very hi-tech goods. They are producing millions of engineers every year and control much of US university research.
Our own military has warned they are outspending us on AI research. They are also years ahead of us in electric vehicles.
I have been warning about China since the early 2000’s. I was told back then that they would produce nothing but low cost goods, would become democratic and shake off communism and would collapse.
DO not take China lightly.
Money is not bulletproof.
They steal everything - they have no “imagination” — it’s junk despite what or how many they have... Per Chinese students in academia... yeah — I live in Charlottesville, VA - UVA — a ton of CCP kids running around — or were running around... Consistently getting caught stealing research — not of their own — but stealing ... that’s what communism does - it kills creativity... now, I’m not saying we won’t get into a conflict with these idiots at some point — & it won’t be messy — but they won’t win... they can’t think for themselves... I’ve seen it - personally...
Per their military might — even their jet engines don’t last long — they have no idea how to create it test it and make it better — thus, they steal to make up for the loss of knowledge... I used to run into alot of engineers in Iraq — total waste of human cells those guys were... just saying... I’m not disregarding them - but they will never win.
Wait until the Germans are confronted with the reality that the chinese view themselves as the master race. Unapologetically. The CCP is the least PC entity on the planet.
