I'm in the middle of Miami Vice. Actually season 4 and thought I'd take a small break and watch the first episode of 24. WOW, was it explosive in more ways than one. Its been 20 years so I don't remember anything except for Kiefer Sutherland. Something really good to look forward to after Miami Vice. And back to Miami Vice, In one episode, out of nowhere, Sonny Crocket got married. Sure wonder how thats going to be folded into future episodes???? If one hasn't watched/seen 24 put it on your list!!
just giving your money

Other than paying for my internet service it is costing me nothing to watch all these programs. I don’t subscribe to Netflix, Hulu or whatever.
Longmire.....
Longmire is good.
Me too.
Latest binge watching show here has been the first season of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.
The Americans was one of the best ever!!!
Neither of us had seen anything other than a random episode of ‘24’ so a few winters ago, I rented and/or found the series at St. Vincent’s (thrift shop) and we were 100% hooked. We binge-watched all 8? years over the winter.
The only character I really didn’t like was ‘Tony.’ First, the actor who plays him is such a wooden, awful actor. Can you DO anything other than frown? LOL! And they kept bringing him back. Yeesh! Do us all a favor and just stay dead! (Sorry if that’s a spoiler; it’s not much of a spoiler; you never truly get rid of Tony, so any time he ‘dies’ don’t worry. He’ll be back.)
Really disliked Chloe at first, but she grew on me. Loved the initial wife and the daughter. My favorite President (and there are many!) was Dennis Haysbert and his deliciously EVIL wife, Sherry as First Lady. Cherry Jones was a good ‘first female’ President, also with a slimy spouse. Jean Smart was great as a First Lady. John Voight is in the series, too.
I remember years ago when Rush Limbaugh was constantly pimping the show. I’m really glad we finally watched it.
I’ll add ‘Justified’ as a series you need to watch. So, SO good, from beginning to end. Our cats are named ‘Boyd’ and ‘Eva.’ ;) A little violent, so count on a few people ending up dead in each episode, BUT - those killings were ‘Justified.’ ;) Great music soundtrack, too.
Also, ‘Longmire’ was a superb series, and you’d probably like all of the Tom Selleck ‘Jesse Stone’ movies.
“...and dont keep playing Candy Crush...”
I did something this year I swore I would NEVER do, and that was to start playing Candy Crush. It’s addictive!
In my defense, I haven’t bought a single thing. I’m toughing out each level on my own and by my own wits.
I’m in the 300 levels now. I’m pretty sure the levels keep going on until you physically die in Real Life or become incapacitated, Right? ;)
I second ‘Longmire’ for your FIL.
Also, the ‘Jesse Stone’ movies with Tom Selleck.
I just found the entire series of ‘The Thorn Birds’ on DVD. Thrilled!
Loved that the first time I saw it - probably in the 80’s? You know, back when you had to wait a whole WEEK between episodes on regular TV? ;)
Give me a good, old-fashioned ‘Mini-Series’ any day!
‘Lonesome Dove’ was really good. We finally got around to watching that last winter. Another recommendation for your FIL.
I didn’t care for any of the spin-offs that came after. I liked the original version best.
For your father-in-law, for you, for your spouse, for your children, for your grandchildren:
Hallmark Network’s “WHEN CALLS the HEART”
That ticks off all your listed boxes.
“Im pretty sure the levels keep going on until you physically die in Real Life or become incapacitated, Right? ;)”
Yes, I think it’s basically designed to work exactly that way!
I started playing this silly game because my daughter told me to. And it is true that at one point we were tied!
But now she is at level whatever, and I am in the 2000s, but I am now thinking that I will not be able to go forward in the game without spending $$
It is a great game, and I also like the jelly version!
I use an AppleTV and on a different input an Amazon FireTV.
FireTV is the big brother to FireStick (faster, more memory).
Amazon Prime channels are better to watch on the FireTV, and you can project (cast) HBO Max from your smartphone to the AppleTV, but currently the FireTV won’t do HBO Max, and you need the AppleTV to do AppleTV+ network (with Ted Lasso, See, and other cool series).
Get the latest versions available of the Fire device and the Apple device.
Justified, Imposters and, oddly....The Good Witch.
It certainly is fun! Some days they’re really kind and give you a bunch of prizes and lives and levels you could figure out blindfolded - then you spend an entire WEEK trying to get through ONE level, LOL!
