The Isle of Tiree Coastguard Rescue Team were called to a report of an object in the water on September 28.
Members of the public were quick to help out the team and identify the object as an autonomous wave glider, which could easily have traveled miles from home. As of last week the boat's owner had not yet been found.
The boat's appearance is identical to the surface element of the Boeing Liquid Robotics Wave Glider. The surfboard-shaped object has large solar arrays fore and aft, a large handle at the bow and three hard points for launch and recovery located amidships, like the Wave Glider's upper component. (The lower articulated component hangs 30 feet below the surface.)

BenLurkin-any relation to Ida Bendover?
Boeing?
Looks like a hobbyist put it together in his garage.
Boaty McBoatface?
They only difference being that Fed.gov will pay Boeing $300 million for it.
Looks like it’s been out there for a while.
Drats, forgot to install the auto home module.
lost my guns in a boating accident but looks like they found my boat at least
At least it didn’t beach itself on an Iranian shore. I still remember when a very classified Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel (December 2011) was launched in Afghanistan but ‘landed’ with minimal damage in Kashmar, Iran. Given the subsequent treatment of Iran by the Obama Administration, it still smells to me!
FRiend, it didnt smell - it was an evacuation-level stench that is still off-limits to this day!
I’ve seen this movie before. Whatever you do, don’t touch the green goo on the deck of the boat.
Autonomous Drug Mule, um, dolphin.

God help us these subs will appear all over Scotland now! We’ll have to call Biff Baxter for help.
I’d sure be careful approaching such a craft just for that reason...booby traps.
...... call home .....
they should just tow it out to see and set it free, it can’t get light and it’s signals are blocked, it will find it’s way back home.
lol, save the robots
Front end looks a little banged up. Maybe it’s a test vehicle that somehow got separated from the team and has been floating around for however long.
You may be right! These days, I shouldn’t be surprised.
Legitimate salvage.
