Viewership of the NBA Finals set a new record low for television audience for the third straight game on Sunday as more fans tune out because they think the league has become too political.
Overnight ratings show game three viewership was off slightly from Friday's count, Deadline reports:
ABC telecast of Game 3 of the NBA Finals (1.5, 4.08M) from the bubble in Orlando was off a tenth from Friday night’s Game 2 and seven tenths from Game 1 last Wednesday. Last night saw the Heat get on the board with a 115-104 victory to cut the Lakers’ lead in the series to 2-1, with Game 4 set for Tuesday.
Friday’s game two of the NBA Finals set a new low for television audience - breaking the previous low set just two days earlier by game one.
Last Wednesday, game one attracted more than a half-million fewer viewers than the previous low, which was recorded in 2003, The Hollywood Reporter notes:

Pro sports leagues exist from corporate welfare. Taxpayers foot the bill for hundred of millions and up for these arenas and stadiums.
We need to oppose the handouts politically.
Boycott watching. Don’t buy the gear. Force the NBA and NFL to bankruptcy.
Then ax scholarships for any kneeling college kids.

The NBA contract (Turner Sports/ESPN/ABC) is set to run through to the spring of 2025 (I assume through the playoffs). This pays around 2.7-billion dollars a year.
I would assume that the TV group here is shaking in fury at the viewer numbers and selling advertising at one-third off the normal price...so there’s probably just a marginal amount of money floating through...to pay the NBA and probably the operations cost of the TV crews.
I’ll go and suggest that at the conclusion of this champion series...the TV executives will demand to meet the NBA commissioner and owners. It won’t be a pleasant meeting. At the conclusion, the card will be put on the table that none of the three will bid on the next contract unless a total change occurs. All of this will lead to a commissioner and union chief meeting...where the hint will be laid down that the clock is ticking, and in three years...the next contract will be cut by a huge amount.
Have you seen their soy boy commissioner? He looks like a total liberal that hates his whiteness. He should step down because of his color and give the job to someone of color.

The NBA games are now sham political rallies. A publicly traded company has to answer to stockholders and investors.
Cancel the contract for fraud. We were sold a sporting event and actually bought a political propaganda event that fans don’t want. Tie it up in court. Stop the money flow and the NBA is forced into bankruptcy.
The players need to be fired and have to go get real damn jobs. Until that happens the battle will continue for us.

This needs to STOP. I have never understood why taxpayers are saddled with the cost of the monuments to spoiled brats.
