Irelands health chiefs recommended to the government on Sunday that the country enter a second nationwide lockdown for four weeks in a surprise move that cabinet will discuss on Monday, two government sources said.
Irelands National Public Health Emergency Team recommended a leap to the highest level of COVID-19 restrictions, Level 5, from current Level 2 controls in 24 of Irelands 26 counties and stricter Level 3 measures in Dublin and Donegal.
The government has almost entirely adopted their health chiefs advice throughout the pandemic, but one of the sources said a return to lockdown would have a serious economic and societal impact.
Prime Minister Micheál Martin and the leaders of his two coalition partners will meet the countrys chief medical officer on Monday ahead of a cabinet meeting to discuss the recommendations.
Under level 5, people are asked to stay at home, except to exercise within 5 kilometers, with only essential retailers allowed to stay open. Unlike the first lockdown, schools and crèches would not have to close.

Ok no one has had covid in our town. All businesses stayed open. We have one grocery store, one liquor store, two hardware stores, one pet store, one CVS. Pop. 6011. Ppl have returned to work. Schools opened already. All is well here. But a small airplane crashed onto our one and only road last week. I have more risk from crashing airplanes than Covid. At some point everything must open. I lived through polio and small pox epidemics. You cant hide in your house forever. That is not life.

Umm what? ***The @who now estimates that 750,000,000 people have gotten the ro? Which, at 1 million death, would put the death rate at 1 in 750 (even with overcounting, etc) - or 0.13%. Thats the lowest estimate Ive ever seen. Say it with me: ITS THE FLU.

***Hey @drmikeryan @who - do you stand by that estimate of 750 million infected with #SARSCoV2 - and thus a death rate (IFR) of 0.13%? Or do we have another clarification coming?

Die? He looks about ready to play the back nine.
Its the flu, okay? ***Thats what the @who numbers say - 0.13% IFR if Dr. Ryans estimate of 750 million infected is right. Weve blown up the world and screwed over our kids for the flu. And its time we stopped.

3 Oct: Irish Times: Covid-19: World in for a hell of a ride in coming months, ***Dr Mike Ryan (Executive Director, WHO Health Emergencies Programme) says
WHO official estimates that 750m people globally have likely had coronavirus to date
by Ronan McGreevy
He estimated 10 per cent as our best guess in relation to the global rate of infection to date and those who have antibodies for the virus.
The problem is there is more than six billion left. Therein lies our problem, he told webinar hosted by the Royal Irish Academy (RIA) entitled Learning from Pandemics: a Century of Experience...
However, he criticised the lack of a global response to plans to raise some 25.6 billion (US$32 billion) for the Covid-19 accelerator programme to produce diagnostic tools and vaccines when they are available to deal with the virus. Just 3.24 billion has been raised to date...
Dr Ryan said he was somewhat cynical or at least depressed at the prospect of whether the world will wake up and we will actually see that epidemics are yet another consequence of our poor planetary and ecosystem management...

We know what to do now. Implement strict safety guidelines for nursing homes and the like. Anyone under 60 should be able to decide for themselves whatever risk they are willing to assume. No lockdown! I suspect they are going to try to pressure America to shutdown again right before the election.
And Biden’s SS code name is “Celtic”.
I swear, I’m about to go have all my genetic material swapped out so I don’t carry the shame of my people.
Despite evidence that lock downs do not lower the overall death rate from COVID and even lead to higher death rates from other causes so called health experts are still willing to force economic and social misery on people.
So much effort just to get Trump.
Leftists just can’t give up power once they taste it.
It’s blood in the water to them.

This whole virus sham is essentially a warm up for their ultimate power grab: shutting down the whole world because climate change.
