5. less than a minute
6. I really enjoy these puzzles. Helps keep this old curmudgeon’s brain firing.

Easy. Started with the ninth word.

Survey:

  1. A few years?
  2. Once every day.
  3. Hal
  4. A few minutes.
  5. Perhaps 30s?
  6. Looking forward to it every day. So, quite important :-)
  7. Don’t think so. It’s fine!

1. How long have you been doing the daily cryptogram? For years
2. How often do you do the daily cryptogram? Nearly every day.
3. Do you usually solve on paper or Hal? Hal most of the time.
4. On average how long does it take you to solve the cryptogram? Seriously varies.
5. What’s the fastest time you’ve had to date? About a minute - but I don’t time myself.
6. How important is Today’s Cryptogram to you? I look forward to it each day
7. Is there anything I can do to make it better? It’s great just the way it is.

1. How long have you been doing the daily cryptogram? - pretty much from the start
2. How often do you do the daily cryptogram? - try to do it every day
3. Do you usually solve on paper or Hal? - I’m lazy - HAL
4. On average how long does it take you to solve the cryptogram? - sometimes sub-1 min; sometimes 10+...
5. What’s the fastest time you’ve had to date? I don’t use a timer, best guess ~ 45 secs
6. How important is Today’s Cryptogram to you? Gotten used to it. That counts
7. Is there anything I can do to make it better? Not that I can see

Hmmm

Makes one wonder if the author believes in the tooth fairy?

1. How long have you been doing the daily cryptogram

basically since day 1

2. How often do you do the daily cryptogram?

just about daily

3. Do you usually solve on paper or Hal?

Hal BUT I do consider it 'cheating'

4. On average how long does it take you to solve the cryptogram?

don't check

5. What’s the fastest time you’ve had to date?

see 3 & 4

6. How important is Today’s Cryptogram to you?

I enjoy doing them. BUT not a 'life & death' matter

7. Is there anything I can do to make it better?

No more surveys (That's a joke son)

Thanks for the puzzle daily it is truly appreciated.

When I say HAL is 'cheating' I mean in my own mind etc, foolish to not use it since it is available...

I think if you don’t use the counter, Hal is not cheating.

I don’t mean ‘cheating’ in the normal way cheating is used.

What I mean is I have done these before NOT using the computer and its related ‘helpers’ but with HAL available, not using it is ‘foolish’ so I use the term ‘cheating’ in the broadest sense of the word.

Again, this is MY line of thinking and I do NOT consider ‘others’ cheating by using HAL...

(as said before...IT AIN’T EASY BEING ME)<: <: <:

1. I have been doing the puzzle for about nine months.
2. I do it every day.
3. I use HAL
4. I usually get the first word, or about 5 letters, within a couple of minutes. Once I have about five letters, the others fall into place very quickly.
5. I don’t really time myself. I either get it very quickly, or it is an all day affair.
6. I love doing this puzzle.
7. No need to change a thing!

1: Since you started, I think, unless I did not see them earlier.
2: Everyday, unless I am away from the internet.
3: I generally use HAL, although I do it in my head, looking for word patterns. HAL merely helps to fill it in faster.
4: You know my speed on these as I report my times in Freepmail. Let’s just say “very fast.”
5: Ten seconds, or as fast as I could fill in the letters required. Sometimes filling in the letters takes longer. I could read the answer in the puzzle without actually filling it in.
6: I start my day with it. It gets my motor running.
7: Make sure you ping the member list each time. Sometimes it gets forgotten.
