Remington killed the Marlin Firearms brand with their crappy "Remlins." Lets hope Ruger can return the Marlin brand to the standards seen in the old "JM" marked guns. Long live the lever action!
Ruger/Remy Pump,,,
Very Interesting.
“Ruger has purchases most all of the assets of Marlin Firearms from the seemingly perpetually bankrupt Remington. “
Harvard Business School and Wall Street. :)
My brother stole a Marlin 39A Golden Mountie Rifle from me and traded it for a bag of weed. My grandfather left it to me.
I doubt Ill ever forgive him for it.

I learned a few weeks ago that Bushmaster/DPMS was bought out by Remington and shut down.
I know because I bought an LR-308 a couple of years ago that I never fired. When I finally got around to it, it wouldn’t cycle. Took a while to figure out where to send it, but Remington fixed it for free.
I’ve loved my Marlin model 795 .22 rifle for over 15 years. I hope Ruger (with their fine 10/22) don’t decide the 795 isn’t needed anymore.

This could be good for the Marlin brand which has suffered under Remington management.
You got that right mate. Maybe they’ll start making them the way they used to. I was lucky and got a Guide Gun by Mwrlin before they tubed. A Rolex.

My first rifle was a Marlin model 60. I got it in the early 80s for about 40 bucks at Kmart.
Maybe Ruger can move the Marlin operations to its Prescott facility. They have plenty of room for it.
I still have my Marlin Camp 9 from 26 years ago.
Most excellent news. One might add a shiny new Marlin/Ruger lever gun to one’s wantwant list.
A 336 in .35 Remington would be da bomb.
Ruger ping. Is there are Ruger facility in Reidsville?
If anyone can do it, Ruger can!!!
Major league Ruger guy here-love Ruger.
My best iron sight shooter is a 30-30 336.
Bought from a neighbor about 40 yrs back for $150.
Yes, good news indeed.
Now somebody needs to rescue Remington...an American icon.
Perhaps Smith & Wesson.
I bought a 1895 Guide Gun in 45-70 a couple of years ago as a camp gun. Shoots standard loads nicely. I have a box of bear loads which I have not shot yet. A convenient size, works well and is quite potent, so I have no complaints.
Most excellent news of the day. Outstanding and can’t wait to purchase my first Sturm Ruger made Marlin. A Sturmgarlin.
When I lived in Alaska I bought a Marlin 1895 in .45/70 that shoots under 2” at 100 yards with iron sights. That was my bear defense gun. Now I live in north Idaho and it is STILL my bear defense gun.
I believe that Ruger will make Marlin the great company that it was. Its such a shame that Remington is in such bad shape. I had several great Remington firearms until I lost them in the boating accident.
