Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey is extending the order requiring facial coverings in public places until Nov. 8.
The governor announced the extension at a press conference today in Montgomery.
Ivey and State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris issued the mask order effective July 16 as the state saw increasing numbers of coronavirus cases. The order was extended twice, most recently on Aug. 27, and was set to expire Friday. It is now extended through Sunday, Nov. 8.
Ivey mentioned the national election as one reason for extending the order past Nov. 3.
I want everyone to (vote) and to be able to do it safely," she said, adding that Alabamas coronavirus case numbers saw consistent decline after the mask order was instituted.

I think it’s just this county and maybe Montgomery (although don’t know for sure) that apparently makes the rules for everyone else in Alabama. Ivey may be getting her medical advice on this from UAB. In my opinion there will not be a time in the future where things go back to normal. I wish we lived in another county here but my wife’s family is here and I have already lost the “why don’t we move” conversation.
I’m starting to like the idea of seating governors in dunking chairs.
Agree... We have had a liberty ending and problem in play for a long time.
May not want to go there, but they essentially admit largely the same as has happened in the US — https://www.marxists.org/history/erol/uk.hightide/prey.htm
I say we release them into the wild with cowbells around their necks. To make it fair, give them a ten minute head start and we only hunt with .36 cap and ball.
I’m so mad at that woman. I want her JAILED for violating Alabama’s Constitution.
You’re on her side?
What a nut!!!!

Some even stay away if you are wearing a mask. I love the ‘deer in the headlights’ look some get when they turn a corner and unexpectedly encounter someone. They look like they just peed their pants.

I think they actually do wet themselves. I would say a majority of these people never think twice about getting into a car or truck to get to the store. One has a bigger chance of getting into an accident and possibly maimed or killed than getting the cornholio virus.
