My family and my company are leaving California.
It's heartbreaking.
My parents moved to California four decades ago. I grew up here. For 33 of the 36 years I've spent on this planet, I've lived here. I was born at St. Joseph's in Burbank; I attended elementary school at Edison Elementary; I went to college at UCLA. I co-founded a major media company here, with 75 employees in Los Angeles. I met my wife here; all three of my kids are native Californians.

What took you so long?
We left in 2010. Haven’t missed it at all.
Welcome to Tennessee, Ben.
As I understand it the company is moving to Nashville and Ben to Florida but he will be spending lots of time in TN so will probably have a place there too,
A thought worth processing
Gavin Newsome approves. Sick stuff and ICE and the Feds need to take action, pronto!
I left in 1946, but did not have a say in it as I was one year old.
California is a beautiful place.
The rich really like it.
The only problem they have is all those little people crowding up their beaches and highways.
The writing was on the wall at least ten years ago. I miss the climate and scenery and the cultural melting pot. If California wasnt such a mess I probably wouldve stayed in my native state but with the Great Recession and lunatic policies and taxation it just wasnt for me.
Democrats cannot govern. They pose “solutions” to problems real or fake, and get elected.
But all they are is a one trick pony, throwing more money at a problem, and the MSM covers for them.
What proceeds is increased government control, that never fixes said problem, and makes life worse for everyone.
In comes conservative leaders to fix the mess. While that goes along, the MSM poisons the well against the incumbant conservative, and we get another democrat loser who can’t govern. If any MSM journalist did their job, Democrats would hold barely 10% of elected seats.
So they can give your money to illegals, encourage massive forest fires, and help the Clintons and 0bamas of this world in every way imaginable.
Los Angeles sucks ; the bay area is a great place to live
It’s sad. Like Shapiro, I’m a native of CA. And I’ve seen things decline very badly, particularly over the past 25 years as the state collapsed into one-party rule. For various personal reasons, it’d be very hard for me to move out over the next few years. But eventually, yes, I could see exiting at some point.
Wait until he gets a Tax Bill from California a couple years after he moves, everyone I know that moved has had to deal with the Franchise Tax Board after the fact.
ps. NOTHING will be resolved until you actually talk to them personally and send them your Tax Returns. It was a real pain in the Ass
I left ion 2015 for Florida and haven’t looked back. People should be careful about expectations. There is no paradise on this side of six feet of dirt and Florida has its issues too. But on balance it is a much better environment overall. I suspect at some point California will snap out of its mostly man made and politically orchestrated nightmare. But like drunks and drug addicts, sometimes you have to hit bottom before you recognize you have a problem.
I left in 2014 and so glad i did. I always encourage people to take a ‘field trip’ to SoCal and see for themselves what its like. And I’m not talking just go to the ghettos...drive I-10 from LA to Palm Springs and and swing through the major cities especially San Bernardino and see what its like. Have you ever seen a deserted international airport? San Bernardino baby!
In time, its not really going to matter where you live.. the trend is for the whole country to become like California.
they are also taking over Seattle, Portland, and SillyCon Valley, Californication
several cities and neighborhoods are already 40, 50% communist Chinese (while they only had a few percent of USA citizen-Chinese a few years ago), and the trend is increasing not diminishing from all signs
