Bishop says politicians and others who promote abortion are excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
Article:
Bishop: Pro-abortion Andrew Cuomo excommunicated himself, should not receive Communion
According to this article, Bishop Strickland of Tyler, Texas claims that by rejecting Catholic teaching, one excommunicates themselves from the Catholic faith.
That would mean Nancy Pelosi, Andrew Cuomo, and Joe Biden are excommunicated. In the past, Bishops have declared that supporting abortion excommunicates politicians.
Probably the most famous example is the letter by the late Archbishop of Atlanta John Francis Donoghue.
Here is a link to that famous letter/declaration. There were three bishops who made the declaration. The link:
Worthy to Receive the Lamb: Catholics in Political Life and the Reception of Holy Communion
The date of this publication is August 4, 2004. It was published by three dioceses.
Congressman Patrick Kennedy took the letter public and then became an 'ex-congressman' because of the public furor over the congressman's stance.
I thought it somewhat ironic to see Pelosi making the sign of the cross while standing in front of RGB’s casket.
Surprised she didn’t burst into flames...
Ooops - make that RBG.
Bishop Tobin to Congressman Patrick Kennedy: ´What does it mean to be a Catholic?´
The first sentence of the article is important:
our rejection of the Church´s teaching on abortion falls into a different category - it´s a deliberate and obstinate act of the will; a conscious decision that you´ve re-affirmed on many occasions.
A pillar of salt would work for me too.

Didn’t know demons could maintain good standing in the Church. /s
John wrote that some people leaving demonstrates that they never belonged.
But Paul also wrote of those who sneak in to spy out our liberty, who try to draw us to follow them rather than repent. These dont leave. They fester.
In Revelation we see Christ address such a person as she was teaching deep things of Satan. He had given her time to repent but that time of Revelation that time was by then gone. What would this be except her being turned over to a reprobate mind?
Im not saying Nancy Pelosi has run out her time to repent though she does actively support homosexuals in society ... a fruit that can be judged, one that does not come from good trees because while everyone who has been turned over to a reprobate mind will rabidly supports homosexuality in society the reverse need not follow. Rather, she seems simply unrepentant at this time. She may not doesnt escape though, even if not reprobate, just as the children of the Jezebel in Thyatira did not escape.
She needs to repent. Putting it off isnt a good idea. Not for her or for anyone.
These people are excommunicated no matter what certain bishops might say. There are some bishops that have come awfully close to excommunicating themselves, too. I don’t know what their standing is within the Church or if they are within the Church at all once they are at least partially apostate due to declaring certain dogmas to be wrong or not applicable to them. What I am sure of is that they may not receive the Body and Blood and sin grievously if they do.
They just use religion and christianity for mere social acceptability & politics to appeal to get voters.
Is the Pope Cath......oh never mind.
Nice that she did it to herself, but imagine the powerful message if the Pope came out and announced it.
God is merciful, which is why she didn't spontaneously catch on fire or melt immediately.
This explained to me by Paul Schenck (now Father Paul Schenck).
He was arrested for offering a Bible to a woman at an abortion clinic. The case went all the way to the US Supreme Court.
Paul Schenck won the decision 8-1. The lone dissenter was Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer.
Before I post the link to the Oral Arguments, Paul Schenck at one time was lost in Washington, DC.
He looked over into the car next to him to ask for help.
He realized the driver was Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer. He decided not to ask him for help.

Why doesn’t the Catholic religion make it official and do it instead of just safely saying that they did it to themselves.
It makes them look weak and like they are afraid to take a stand.
That would be as bad as taking away Bill Clinton’s law license for 5 years over a blo job. She’ll still be speaker-for now.
He was raised as an Orthodox Jew.
Then he became an Evangelical Christian.
He converted to the Catholic faith, and then he was allowed to become a Catholic priest even though he was married.
However, I see that he is no longer a Catholic priest (?)
I believe it is in the Catechism. But I would have to find it in the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church...
