The 2007 season is the most revered college football season of the past two decades. The season featured nine teams getting ranked in the top five of the BCS rankings in November. Thats not even counting a Boston College team that was No. 2 on Oct. 28 after an 8-0 start.
The season was wild, wacky and featured everything we love about this crazy sport. And 2020 could wind up being a worthy sequel. Or even The Godfather 2 to 2007s The Godfather.
Saturday started with No. 3 Oklahoma losing at home to Kansas State after giving up an inexplicable 24 straight points to the Wildcats inside of the final 20 minutes. The game was followed by No. 6 LSU losing 44-34 at home to Mississippi State in Mike Leachs debut as No. 8 Texas had to score 15 points in the final three minutes of regulation simply to force overtime and eventually beat Texas Tech.

Watched UVa beat Duke yesterday; my first football since the Championship Game back in January. I thought the usual excitement of a college game was missing. The stadium was mostly empty, populated only by clusters of family members, widely separated in only a few sections along the sidelines. I’m glad UVa won but it was a pretty sad event.
ML/NJ
That ou loss was almost as sweet as Texas last minute plus overtime win against Tech. Wow!
Are the academies kneeling?
Don’t forget Georgia down 7-2 with seconds left in the first half. No passing game, no running game.
The finally wore Arkansas down, and the final numbers don’t look that bad, but things were really bad the first half.
I watched Navy last week and Army yesterday. No kneeling anywhere but that doesn’t mean their future opponents will not kneel at some point.
Any mention of the BLM-coddling morons at FSU getting their Karma from Miami last night? 52-10!!! PS.... ES, FSU!!!!
The Canadian snowflake should of spent more time focusing on football and less on social justice during the off season.
He has been pathetic on the field this season and upstaged by LD Bell who was supposed to be his backup.
Biggest loser. One of the coaches of Army nearly knocked out when head buffed by one of the Army players while he still had his helmet on.
Butted. I hate auto correct.
Go UAB Blazers
That was a thing of beauty. fsu is hot garbage.
Even though I hate “The U” even more, especially after that idiot alum “The Rock” endorsed Hiden Biden.
Well, now we both have reasons to mourn. OU lost another one on Saturday and Texas lost to TCU.
As for the Sooners, they played a terrible game. My theory is that many of these college players feel oppressed or put upon now and don’t put any effort into their game. The OU defense looked pathetic. I’ve never seen such poor tackling.
Iowa State played well, and OU players acted as if they didn’t care.
I think that’s true across the board, especially with players on defense. I don’t think they’re giving 100% effort.
Which is one reason I don’t really care about this season, I think it’s bogus.
I agree. After OU’s poor showing in the first half, followed by some BS video with a bunch of black football players whining about how we needed to hear their stories, I had had enough. I am done with sports, and I used to be a real fan of some college sports and MLB.
I feel like telling these punks that they need to listen to their elders. I don’t need them lecturing me about how rough they have it.
And they face off this weekend.
Ugh. I won’t be watching. After OU’s poor performance in 2 games and the crappy public service message where a bunch of punk kids whined about how everyone needs to listen to them, I’m done. I turned the OU-Iowa State game off at halftime right after the lecture delivered by a bunch of dolts who have no idea how blessed they are to live in the US.
Since I haven’t watched much college football this season, no pro ball, and no MLB games, I find that I have lost interest. We are either being lectured and told how awful we are, or we have to watch the ridiculous antics of these spoiled brats and millionaires on the field... the stupid celebrations, the chest pounding, the standing over the guy they just tackled as if they conquered him, to on-field brawls. It’s just not fun any more.
Agreed.
