Remember when the NYT ran a story questioning how Nominee John Roberts was able to adopt 2 Irish children, when foreign adoptions of Irish children was illegal. They uncovered that the adoption transaction was routed through South America, where the children were transported and then brought to the USA. Then suddenly, the NYT retracted the story and appologized, citing privacy, the importance of keeping adoption records confidential, and of course, protecting the children.
I’m guessing ACB gets no such consideration, and they will demand full disclosure. They might even drag out a fake mother to claim the children were hers, and were stolen from her. Stop the confirmation! We need FBI investigations!
The question is, why did they let Roberts off the hook when they pretty much had him dead to rights?
There is NOTHING in the constitution about mandated hearings it only states the senate accepts the nomination and the nominee is voted in by the senate!! Mitch needs to skip the utter circus of hearings AND hold the vote DONE!! If it were the Dems you can get your life it would be exactly what they would do!! People adopting infants from Haiti generally do it because the waiting list is short, there are a lot of infants and newborns, and a lot of need. It can also cost less than adopting from most other countries.
