BREAKING: Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron is reportedly planning to announce the decision in the deadly shooting of Breonna Taylor by Louisville police at 1:30 p.m.
LOLOLOL!
Especially if I am a career heroin distributor. Normal occupational hazard.
I didn't just say "drugs being flushed," but included dangerous suspects. As it happens, most drug dealers also have lengthy criminal records for violence before they start picking up felony charges for drugs, and then they get habitual felony offender enhancements (for all their previous violent felonies), the amount and diversity of drugs they are ultimately caught with (each drug is a different charge), and random stuff like having the drugs in a Drug Free Zone.
Basically the entire war on drugs is a great way of getting rid of violent offenders for 20 or so years.
What person, and that includes cops, would not reach for a weapon when the door of their home is broken down in the middle of the night amid unintelligible shouts?
I've never heard of such a scenario actually occurring where criminals shout and break down the door. In a murder case I am familiar with, they used an agent in the house to unlock the door. Then they rushed in, marched the guy up to the bedroom, and then executed him.
I've also seen them go in through open windows, and stomp down doors only when they think no one is there.
But I have never heard of a case where armed men "shouted unintellegibly" and burst through the door.
Lastly, are there States where warrants are actually executed at night? I'm not aware of that being the case in Texas. I suspect that is not legal anywhere.
I’ll bet they will be found not guilty.
Of course, if they ar4e found guilty, I’d be willing to wager that the crowd will demand the police in question need to be turned over to them immediately for ‘instant justice’.
> Busting down doors in the middle of the night is not cool. <
To which Id add: Busting down doors in the middle of the day is also not cool.
Maybe there are others. But I can think of only one reason why it would be cool to bust down a door: Its a hostage situation, and the bad guys have made a credible threat to kill a hostage.
Otherwise, wait em out. Or grab them up when they go out for a Big Mac. Or fire a tear gas round through the window. But dont be crashing through doors unless you really, really have to.
Yeah, they should have shown up with the force the feds had for Roger Stone.
Just before the announcement today, the state NG should have a flight of strike eagles flying over the city.
turns out, according to info Ive gleaned from around the innerwebs, she was heavily involved in BFs drug dealings, using her apartment as a drop and/or money laundering site.
Will be interesting to see how much the communist insurgencys threats of violence alter the DAs presentation/charges.
I’d be thinking more along the lines of A-10’s.
Even so, I doubt the ferals would understand the significance of either.
Until it’s too late.
Detective Anthony James had a camera. The police lied about that one.
My opinion is that this was a big screw-up from the outset, and it was why the city of Louisville made a substantial settlement with the Taylor family.
As to whether it was criminal is a little less clear. At least one witness has said that the police announced themselves before entering. The police officers also claim they announced before entering. And even then, you can question whether that is smart police work or not. However, it is legal.
Except maybe for copies of Rules for Radicals and The Communist Manifesto.
Perhaps the scenario I painted (shouting, nighttime) isn’t accurate. Ok.
But what about my main point? That busting down the door of a private residence in a nation with 120,000,000 gun owners is very likely going to lead to needless maiming or death of either the homeowners or the cops?
As another FReeper stated above, why not employ some patience and lie in wait for them when they go out for a Big Mac? Outside of a hostage situation, no-knock warrants are a poor choice.
Louisville TV coverage shows a crowd gathering in front of the Courthouse.

I have read the same thing. If I had to bet, Id bet that Breonna Taylor was no saint. But its worth noting that no drugs were found in her apartment. None. As in zip, nada, nothing.
As I have noted earlier, I dont think the cops acted criminally here. But they sure did act stupidly. If youre going to execute a no-knock drug raid, you had better be damn sure drugs were there.
The risk of drugs being flushed is not worth the carnage that often happens with no-knock warrants.
The question is whether it is worth the occasional carnage that happens with no-knock warrants.
My nephew manages two restaurants in Louisville.
Does a warrant to search the premises allow law enforcement to enter the home while the occupant is away? If so, why not stake out the home, wait for it to be empty, and then enter and do the search.
If anything is found, the owner/occupant can be arrested at a safe location.
I don’t understand the need to create a situation where “accidents” like this can occur. It’s always safer to enter a home you know to be empty.

No more no-knock except in the situations that you describe. Its a permitted tactic that police have abused.
Correct. Right address but my understanding is for the ex boyfriend.
Assume the claim drugs had never been at the house as full of crap as Crump is.
I live about 12 minutes or so from downtown Louisville.
But, we live in southern Indiana, across the Ohio River. (Greater Louisville area) However, all three of our sons and their families live in the Ville. Two of them live very close to downtown.
Praying for all!!!
