To which I’d add: Busting down doors in the middle of the day is also not cool.
Maybe there are others. But I can think of only one reason why it would be cool to bust down a door: It’s a hostage situation, and the bad guys have made a credible threat to kill a hostage.
Otherwise, wait ‘em out. Or grab them up when they go out for a Big Mac. Or fire a tear gas round through the window. But don’t be crashing through doors unless you really, really have to.

No more no-knock except in the situations that you describe. It’s a permitted tactic that police have abused.
