They don’t have to have hearings, do they? Where does it say that hearings are necessary? The Constitution merely states that the Senate shall advise and consent. So, let each of them ‘advise’ in written form, and either ‘consent’, or not.

The SCOTUS hearing will divert attention away from the debates. This is a godsend for Joe Biden and the Democrats.
