Were officially living in a dystopia where people are faceless and fearful of each other.

I saw a Walmart Employee the other day, who had on a clear plastic shield of some sort. He was grinning, and I laughed and told him I liked that so much better than those face diapers.
Haha. I had an UBER eats delivery boy show up with a mask AND a huge plastic face shield on.
I laughed at him and said WHATS THAT ON YOUR FACE?. He just looked embarrassed.
I was in Petco last week in the larger town near me and the sign on the door said that face masks are required. That’s all good to me since I wear one anyway. The sign said that if you don’t have a mask that they will provide you with one and if you can’t wear one they have an alternative. I saw a few in there with face shields on. I guess that’s the alternative.
My town doesn’t require them. They recommend and most people wear one but they aren’t required.
When I’m facing customers I wear a shield. It’s a terrible impediment... I say a lot of things with a smile that wouldn’t be funny if they couldn’t see that I’m smiling...
When I’m not working I kind of like the mask. But I think the best thing to tell people is masks don’t work, they’ve never worked, the data and the science say wearing a mask creates concentrations of the virus and gives people a false sense of security. The public health people and politicians have thrown out the evidence based guidelines and are largely continuing the mandates as a way of covering their @sses.
Moreover, I hear a lot of guff about how sad it is people believe the lies and do what their told so easily, but I have a different take. People know they’re being lied to, they’ve know from the beginning that what they were being told didn’t add up, and so they’ve been left in a position where they know they have no possible way of knowing what the truth is, so it leads them to excessive scrupulosity as they try to be as safe as possible.
