Yep, that’s what we need alright. But to get that we need 50 Senators who will vote aye. It’s 53/47 and Pence will break the tie so we can lose 3 at most. If that azzwipe Kelly defeats McSally, since it’s a special election he could be seated as soon as Nov. 30 which would reduce the margin even more if it’s not done before election day.

Collins has just said “the decision on a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court should be made by the President who is elected on November 3rd.”

Murkowski was first to say no right from the jump.

Mittens hasn’t said anything yet. What are the odds?

Grassley and Graham have both made statements, but Graham reversed himself after Kavanaugh and Grassley no longer chairs the committee and would not cross party lines.

So it’s possible that we could end up with just those 3 defectors and pass with a tie vote. (Let the riots begin!)

Or one senator with a huge ego and a death wish in the Trump GOP could join them and that would be the end of it. (Ben Sasse, I’m looking at you...)

Twitter rumor: If Lee, Cruz, or Cotton were nominated what they could be instantly seated, no advice and consent needed. Probably BS but one wonders, after Trump recently added those three names to his shortlist.

And in a less serious vein...

“BREAKING: An accuser has already stepped forward with an allegation against the Trump nominee. Sources familiar with the matter say they are just waiting to know who they are accusing before releasing more details.”

What are the chances of Kelly defeating McSally?

I think the tradition is that there wouldn’t be hearings - it would just go straight to up or down vote. Still advice and consent, but without the craziness.
