The Department of Justice is looking into whether federal charges can be brought against Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan over her failure to crack down on a so-called “autonomous zone” controlled for weeks by rioters.
Attorney General William Barr has tasked the DOJ’s civil rights division with investigating whether charges can be brought against Durkan, The New York Times reported on Wednesday evening citing two people familiar with the discussions. Barr has also asked federal prosecutors to consider charging rioters with sedition and insurrection against the United States government, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Rioters took over several city blocks and a police precinct in the middle of Seattle for several weeks over the summer as protests and riots took place following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25. Durkan eventually ordered police to move into the area and reestablish order following several deadly shootings.

She can be charged with “aiding and abetting” violations of the CHOP zone residents constitutional rights, for facilitating the existence of ongoing drug trafficking/selling/deaths; and for “malfeasance of office” regarding guarding federal buildings, among other possible charges.

How many hours of video showing people hurling objects at officials do they need to prove imminent danger? And remember the officers who suffered vision damage because lasers were pointed at their eyes? And maybe if some experienced detectives interviewed some of these violent protesters, they might find that there was agreement, or a conspiracy, to engage in violence and destruction?
Charge these people with sedition. Get people to squeal on each other. It's worth a try isn't it?
Start with the people who bought and delivered the bricks to staging locations in Minneapolis. Get them to roll over on whoever paid them. Keep working all the way up.

I read this fake story and thought how is this a classic NY Times negative story about Bill Barr when viewed by a law and order type voter?
The CHOP zone was absolutely sedition. They tried to create their own country and laws within a city of a state of the USA. Also obvious that the mayor, being the #1 Local Govt authority For that jurisdiction aided and abetted these revolutionaries.
I don’t see a problem hear but rather applaud the person in the Govt with a back bone to actually try to stop this insanity before it gets better new up on your street.
