The leaders of some of Corporate America’s biggest names urged Mayor Bill de Blasio to take “immediate action” to address New York City’s deteriorating quality-of-life issues, warning that an exodus that began with the coronavirus pandemic would continue in the wake of “widespread anxiety” about the future.

In a terse yet poignant letter released on Thursday, the Partnership for New York City — comprised of over 100 business and financial leaders based in the Big Apple — called on the mayor to move quickly to address a number of issues exposed by the coronavirus pandemic, including soaring violent crime.

The first step to solving the problem would be for Mayor DeBlasio to buy a good stout rope and hang himself.

Every democrat mayor post-Giuliani has taken the city one step further to crap!

To have the big business leaders say they want a fix ‘now’, they should be demanding a donation refund, instead!

Mayor Bill de Blasio isn't incompetent; he's headed for re-election, and a swollen Swiss bank account. It's called the Curley Effect, invented in Boston:

I have very little sympathy for NYC businessmen. Certainly, there are several that are true conservatives, but the remainder are RINOs and Rats.

It is abundantly clear that if you do business in NYC in any big way that you have play the politics game to get ahead. It's an ugly game. It's tough a game. It's also not a necessary game if the right politicians were in office. But, NYC businessmen don't want an equal playing field they want political advantage to squash their competition. Well, it's their bed, and they made it. They sided with the wrong side because they had the wrong values and principles.

I used to enjoy working and visiting NYC. Maybe in before I die I can visit NYC again to enjoy a weekend or a week, but a lot of changes, mostly cultural, have to occur. I'm certainly not going to do any business there again. I'm not giving them one more red cent in taxes.

“Let’s be clear: To restore city services and save jobs, we need long term borrowing and a federal stimulus — we need these leaders to join the fight to move the City forward,” the mayor tweeted.

And there I thought Da City produced more than it consumed. Still, as far as "leaders" go NYC could use one fewer Mayor and one more leader. Until that leader steps forward, there are a few things that come to mind, such as refunding the police, ending catch-and-release, enforcing the law and locking up criminals including those involved in government corruption - wouldn't that cut crime more than trying to blame it on a virus? Just a thought.
