I'm going to file this under "I've never seen this in my career, but I probably should have expected it this year" as some of this thick smoke from the historic fires burning in Oregon and California is now getting sucked right into a Pacific storm.

Yes. My son and I were discussing whether we were looking at the sun or the moon one morning last week.
It's also interesting that once they get down to talking about it scientifically (real science, not media science) - i.e. at the level of recent and local weather conditions ... they express the fact that short term weather conditions were the cause, not me driving my car to the store.

Well, once it does get built it still has to be maintained and painted.

It’s not noticeable today because there is a breeze. Several days ago it was. From my house, it looked like it was raining out over the ocean, only it wasn’t rain it was smoke from the fires.
