USA cases and deaths are dropping quickly. The announcement from Trump will come - he will declare the epidemic over because the death rate is below the CDC minimum level to be called an epidemic. See the link above - approximately 7.7% of deaths need to be from CV to call it an epidemic in the USA. That is about 4000 weekly deaths and we are almost under that level. The left will lose it when he announces this and say that he is killing people. But the majority in the USA who want this lockdown to end will be ecstatic. And Fauci has to protect Trump’s back for this announcement because it is his department who came up with this threshold.

The tone on the neighborhood message boards in Texas is turning very much anti-mask. Probably 4 to 1 or 3 to 1 anti-mask in the Houston suburbs. Politicians can’t sustain this lockdown any longer if they want reelection.

I know people — some in my family — who some here would consider “anti-vaxxers”. They do let the kids have the basic, tried-and-true, vaccinations. They just don’t trust ALL vaccines because (1) the research hasn’t been fully completed or proven safe/effective, and/or (2) the method of giving them is via “cocktail” so the kids get a huge load of God-only-knows-what in one giant inoculation, and/or (3) fetal tissue of unborn children is injected into their kids.
The ethics of using fetal tissue of aborted babies is something all, or most, FReepers understand. The other big issue is that the kids possibly will receive DNA of murdered babies. The DNA could have defects which would be passed on to kids. How will a recipient child be impacted if a male gets female DNA, and vice versa? There are many issues.
Disparaging people with questions in these areas really isn’t fair. Calling someone an “anti-vaxxer” has taken on a flat earth or anti-science connotation. In truth, they want BETTER science. They want their kids to be safe, and they want to make decisions for their own kids’ welfare instead of the government dictating it. IIRC, data shows that the mortality rate in children has increased over the years. It should have decreased if the vaccines are so wonderful.
It’s not about “taking shots at” PDJT, as these have been questions long before PDJT came on the political scene.
Rush in his scientific ignorance doesn’t realize that the Covid vaccine is the equivalent of what is commonly known as a flu shot. The various drug companies have been making flu shots for years and do so differently every year. Their effort is sort of hit or miss because they don’t really know what will be the virulent strain.
So making a covid vaccine is really no big deal. It’s what they do all the time. With Covid, there is no guess work. They know exactly which virus is the problem.
In the interest of being a good citizen, I will take the covid shot. There is some question about the possible efficacy but that can only be learned by administration of the shots. To rid America of the disease, the shots must be very widely administered to create a national immunity
I don’t take flu shots because the only time I had flu symptoms was after receiving the shot on my return to the Philippines and it was not shown on my shot card

We have mask mandates in East Tennessee...frightened liberals and power-mad totalitarians around the universities wear them, people on rural areas ignore the mandates. I go to grocery stores all the time without a mask, and have NEVER been challenged by staff. Never...even though the stores display ‘MASK REQUIRED’ signs. KMA.

I won’t take a Covid vaccine if it appears soon, because it’s been pushed out too fast. Although I hope the fearbros stand in line to get it, even if it’s a placebo, just so they’ll STFU and stop already with the masks.
Every year I do get the flu shot, but not because I want to. It’s easier than being nagged to get it. Sometimes I get the flu, and sometimes I don’t, so I don’t believe they’re all that effective. And now with Gates’ hands in the whole vaccine things, I’m a little more worried than normal.
You can rest easy. The vaccine does not and cannot alter your DNA. I understand not wanting to be the first to get a new vaccine but there is a big difference between that and spreading hysterical untruths about the vaccine and for some all vaccines. The aborted cell lines is an issue for me and I hope there is an ethically derived vaccine available by the time work forces me to get it. I have to say I’m conflicted on that one. The cell lines were used in original research they are not used to make the vaccine. Refusing the vaccine will not undo the abortions. I spend a lot of time praying about this one and wish I had a clear answer. In short Inu sees fans your hesitation. and may share some of it but you are not spreading hysteria and untruths in an attempt to get others to not take the vaccine as well. That is a big difference.
Pretty much the same experience here in OK. I thought it was interesting that OKC's mayor unilaterally imposed a mandate until Nov. 30, but the City Council of OKC subsequently scaled the date back to Oct. 12.
Seems like people are becoming burnt out on / fatigued by the whole Corona issue. Still glad I live far from a city, though. :-)

I can get a flu shot at the grocery store...that’s all I need to know about flu shots. I’ll stick with Sambucol and Vitamin d3...so far, so good. When God calls me home; that will be that.

3. Aborted fetal tissue is a dilemma. It’s the ancient argument of using research from the Nazis. Is it fruit from the poisoned tree or does it bejng meaning to an otherwise senseless death. This is a reasonable ethical objection but in a country where frankly we are divided I think it’s a personal objection and reason to not get a vaccine but not a policy prohibition.

Actually Georgia girl has made it clear that she ignores several people. I don’t feel as if I need to ping someone so they can speak untruthfully. However as you have done feel free to ping them. I, for one, don’t see the need to engage the hopelessly lost cause.

Many Flubros, including myself, are rabid antivaxxers. If Trump goes the route of using the bully pulpit to encourage everyone to take the vaccine, and various jurisdictions make it compulsory, that would not go over well. I strongly prefer the right policy, which is that this is over naturally due to herd immunity.

And I respect your position — however that does not mean its the only position. This is where individual liberty is quite important. A vaccine SHOULD be made as quickly as possible, utilizing standard technique. This is being done and made efficient with OWS.
There will be a vaccine for public consumption, and I think that is a good thing as herd immunity takes longer to naturally build. I also think that you may realize that a vaccine is exactly about generated herd immunity — it is the very definition of immunity.
You quote the right policy — that is not a policy position, that is an opinion statement — and you are free to hold it. I would never compel you to have a vaccine as it is absolutely your choice. But in that, I should also have the choice to have a vaccine available and to take it.
While we may disagree on the proper way to proceed, I think we both agree that individual choice and liberty should be the final arbiter in whether to get a vaccine or not — not just for you and me, but for everyone who wants to make a decision. My main objection to those on the wall of shame is that they wish to force their will on everyone — utilizing false information (the most prominent false flag being that DNA will be altered and that the vaccine will be rushed without vetting — both of which are patently untrue)
I've had multiple surgical procedures this year. It's no big deal, I let the doctors do their work and I go on with my life the best I can worry free. Worrying does no good. The first procedure was supposed to be in April. It got pushed forward to June because of the flu. A ChiCom flu test was required exactly two days before the procedure. So I get the test. It was given to me in the car, just a simple swab in my nostril (and not deep). Besides being an inconvenience, it was no big deal. I was negative.
I had two procedures since, one in early August and the other two days ago. No ChiCom flu tests for either procedure.
I have another procedure this coming Thursday and I had to have the ChiCom flu test exactly five days in advance, thus it was this morning.
This test was more of an inconvenience and poorly run compared to the first. I arrived early for the test knowing that it takes only a minute to do - show ID, give phone number, swab for 15 seconds.
I was met by Barry Fife's little brother in a rent a cop outfit. Imagine a soy boy, with a 26-inch waist, wearing semi-tactical gear, half-blacked out with gray cammo and a big shinny badge. This guy was IMPORTANT and to be feared. Or in my case laughed at. I'm not sure what he was really doing other than saying, "wait in your car and they will see you." My car was parked, just like everyone else, and I was waiting. There was a sign that said do so. I can read and it seemed everyone else could. Barney had no reason being there other than to be laughed at.
There was a pair of people doing the testing. Actually one person testing, and another that looked at my ID and took my phone number, which was already pre-printed on the paper work. The one taking the ID/info was from the ghetto and did not have command of the American language. She handed me two papers and muttered something that I did not understand.
I was a little pissed at this point because I had been waiting past my appointment time and I was able to observe Barney Fife, Jr and fat lazy ass ghetto b!tch in action, dragging their unmotivated feet.
The person doing the test finally arrived and told me how painful the test was going to be, "It burns and some people cry a little and sneeze. But don't worry, it is only for 15 seconds. Here's a tissue."
Barry Fife, Jr. arrives and stands behind her. I'm not sure what he is going to do. Perhaps restrain me in all of my agony? I said, "get on with it, I need to get going." However, I was told to put a mask on over my mouth to receive the test. They gave me a mask. I put the damn thing on as if it was going to save the frickin' world and I could be released.
The swab went into the lower part of my sinuses. No pain. No burning. The tester dutifully counted the last five seconds as if I was in life threatening agony and she slipped between 4 and 3, "You'll be alright." There was no pain. I was done and drove away.
I have gathered the following insights from this. 1.) There is no consistency when people receive a ChiCom flu test. I assume the exactly two days and five days prior to a procedure is due to a different test kit being used. However, a test is not needed for all procedures. There is no rhyme or reason here. It really doesn't matter how invasive a surgery is. If anyone needs to be tested it should be the doctors, nurses and techs doing the surgeries, since I am open to being infected when they slice into my body. I'm not calling for their testing tho. It's only if you follow a little logic and have the starting point that this ChiCom Flu thing is any worse than the normal flu.
2.) Testing has turned into a money driven industry that is inefficiently run and is a semi-welfare plan for soy boys and the uneducated from the ghetto.
3.) They actively take steps to try to scare and intimidate you. Sorry, it ain't working with me. Maybe people get so wound up over having a simple swab go up their nose that they imagine pain, breakdown in tears, etc. If that is the case, you don't tell them it is going to hurt and it is okay to cry.
4.) Being told to put a mask over my mouth as they probe my nostril is just plain hideously stupid. The damn masks don't work anyway. The ChiCom virus is something like 0.12 microns in size and the mask is like a 12-lane superhighway for it to go thru. Let's not forget my nose was completely uncovered.
This whole ChiCom flu thing is a hoax. There is no rhyme, reason or sense of logic to anything. There's control of people behind it. There's an exchange of money behind it. The incompetent get hired (Barney Fife, Jr. and fat ghetto b!tch) while businesses are shuttered or they are forced to operate at arbitrary diminished capacities.
Jeez, here in PA this past week the Commie governor unilaterally enacted new rules for bars and restaurants. Establishments were allowed under his munificent new rules to increase indoor dining capacity from 25% to 50%. But there was a price to be paid. They were no longer allowed to serve alcohol past 10 pm. The day before the new edicts establishments could serve until 2 am.
Thousands a businesses in PA have gone under. People's life long dreams and hard work have been ruined. Hideous. Just plain Hideous.
But what is there to do? I need this procedure next Thursday, and I was not so happily inconvenienced today to get a damn ChiCom flu test so I can have the procedure. Barney Fife and ghetto b!tch are not directly responsible, but I'm sure they think all of this is necessary. That makes them just as bad Tommie the Commie, the guv. They are the enemy. They survived today without my wrath, but their day will come, perhaps not from me, but maybe from some other person that doesn't need a surgery as badly as I do.
I will tell you one direct outcome of this entire hoax. I, and I assume many others, have great contempt for many people. It has changed they way I interact with people. I harbor bad feelings for soy boys and ghetto b!tches that I really would have paid no attention to in the past. But I am forced to interact with them now. I don't like it one damn bit.

You may be right, but I’m suspicious. If the “rushed” three phases is as good and as efficient as any other drug research in the past, they why hasn’t this been done for the last few decades? It’s in the best financial interests of pharma to sell their stuff ASAP. It seems that if it COULD be done faster, with equal positive results, it would have been.
That’s just me, and I’m not rabid on either side of this. I’m old enough not to care much, and have no kids to worry about.
