CBS All Access has released the first teaser for its upcoming adaptation of The Stand.
The short teaser, clocking in at just 30 seconds, aired during Sunday nights MTV Video Music Awards. It briefly shows Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail, introducing herself to Frannie Goldsmith (Odessa Young) in a cornfield and beckoning her, you come see me at Hemingfoot Home. From there, it goes on to display eerie deserted streets, distressing hospital moments and even a little bit of levitation.
King’s eyes are about half a centimeter apart. The sign of mental illness.
I’m sure he’s a perfectly fine person but he is NOT Matthew McConaughey .
Perfectly cast, except for the surfer dude who played Flagg.
What were they thinking?
I can’t see how they could improve on the Gary Sinise version. It tracked the book as well as any film production can translate a large book. The casting was amazing.
I just can’t imagine any other actors in those roles now.
You’d have to bind and drug me to get me in a room with him.
Some of the stuff he’s written is just “red flags” as Hell.
His brother Gustaf plays Floki on Vikings the best show currently on television.
Another Hollywood remake. They’ve run out of original ideas unless it’s a movie about transvestite nuns running a daycare as cover for an international human trafficking syndicate specializing in pre-school age children.
LOL, okay...you got me there! That’s funny...:)
You had a hot date go good with Matthew McConaughey, then? LOL
I thought the original was kind of cheesy. Especially with some CGI I think a remake could be well done. AND THIS TIME dont leave out The Kid. You dig that happy crappy?
Vikings ended last year. Its a great series. Travis Fimmel, who played Ragnor, Has a lead role in Ridley Scotts Raised by Wolves, he still uses that little turn of the head. Its a good series too.
The musician character Larry Underwood is now black. He was white in the book.
FWIW, I recently revisited this book just a couple of months ago. I found it a little dated and in need of editing. Still one of Kings best.
No such luck.
/alright, alright, alright
*snicker*
He was a waste of celluloid.
Honestly, innately psychotic Martin Sheen was born to play the demon who caused every bad thing that ever happened in history.
But “Biff”?
Not so much.
I thought we were still waiting on part 2 of Season 6 and then it ends?
I passed up this show for years, assuming it was a cheap Game of Thrones knockoff until a month ago, looking for something to watch on Amazon, the wife and I gave it a shot. I couldnt have been more wrong. We were hooked from the first episode and I daresay I might just have been better than GoT. The battle scenes were absolutely epic.
True...but still not McConaughey.
There’s more?
OMG I hope so.
Where’s Floki?
Did Rollo just wander off screen into the woods?
/hot for Ubbe
Only the smart problem solvers.
Yes it was my favorite for many years. Outstanding scripts and acting. I was sorry to see it end. Also Loki, is now Merlin, in the series Cursed.
