‘The Stand’: CBS All Access Reveals First Teaser of Stephen King Adaptation

CBS All Access has released the first teaser for its upcoming adaptation of “The Stand.”

The short teaser, clocking in at just 30 seconds, aired during Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards. It briefly shows Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail, introducing herself to Frannie Goldsmith (Odessa Young) in a cornfield and beckoning her, “you come see me at Hemingfoot Home.” From there, it goes on to display eerie deserted streets, distressing hospital moments and even a little bit of levitation.

WTF? Just saw the commercial for this and after screaming several obscenities I asked why does the left have to urinate on everything? And do I even need to ask? Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail? I know that the first miniseries wasn't perfect but this? They had me then they lost me.

Looks like Medusa. They should have left the 90s version be, it’s not all that great a story to begin with and they made it just suck more. This is the type of thing that made me give up most TV watching. Total crap.
