The soapbox had it’s place hundreds of years ago.
Then, people collected information, condensed into a news article, and printed on newspaper for wide distribution and circulation.
Why do we need these journalist middlemen to interpret what is said?
I remember the first time I began to see merit in Shakespeare’s observation about lawyers. At that time the media's validity was not in question. I never thought the day would evolve to where we began to express the same sentiment for media we did for lawyers. In fact, deep down inside I sincerely believe the lawyers corrupted the media. But, it is what it is.
This explains it well; a reporter REPORTS the news whilst the journalist STARS in the news.
The reporter provides the news, the journalist provides the narrative. Today's media provides an enormous amount of narrative and very little news.
