The 92nd Academy Awards show was one of the last big events in 2020 before life stopped for the Wuhan Virus. If people had known about a future of masks and isolation, maybe more Americans would have watched than the record low of 23.6 million viewers. But then again, perhaps not, given that winners cannot seem to stop lecturing Americans for being hate-filled, racist, misogynistic yutzes.
The smart thing for the Academy to do in the face of a seemingly unstoppable ratings hemorrhage would be to make the Oscar show more friendly to the viewers. The Academy could nominate movies people like to watch and then limit the speeches to conform to the old rule that, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” Instead, as part of its “Academy Aperture 2025” initiative, the Academy has opted to make the nominations even more politically correct, promising Americans that future films will showcase stifling politically-correct orthodoxy.
On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences put out a press release announcing all of its impossibly woke requirements for movies beginning in 2022 (meaning films produced in 2021).
The press release has created four “standards”:
Under each standard, the Academy lists a variety of mix-and-match quotas that must be met for a specific standard to qualify for Oscar consideration. For example, lead actors must include one of every victim-identity race or ethnicity group. Ensembles must include gay people and handicapped people. Storylines have to touch upon intersectionality, victim-identity issues. Apprenticeships and internships must have all the underrepresented people represented. Thirty percent of a film’s crew has to meet victim-centric intersectionality metrics.

As a student of WWII and even having a two hour conversation, about twenty years ago, with a former “hitler youth”, I seriously enjoyed the film. Anything to present things like this from a “real world and real people” sort of perspective, is a good thing to me. I’m not sure my wife will get it, but I want to see it again anyway.
When I used to live in Seattle, I used to say to people, Imagine you are going about your business one day and bombers from Oregon come through dropping their load on Seattle or even your house? That is the kind of world they lived in at that time.
And his pudgy friend was a hoot.
Time to recall and cancel all the oscars that went to such non-PC films as Gone With the Wind, etc.
And select other winners for those years, in retrospect.
(That’s probably coming next...)
victim-identity issues
THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCANDAL OF THIS YEAR!
SAY THEIR NAMES.....As Laura pointed out last night, this year alone, there are FIFTY-FOUR murdered black children under the age of twelve who have become VICTIMS to the ANTIFA /BLM riots, ginned up hatred by politicians, defunding of police and black thug violence. They have been shot in cars, their yards, on bicycles, and in STROLLERS.
WHEN HOLLYWOOD, ATHLETES, AND SJWs start wearing masks with these childrens names on them, only then will there be credibility to this ridiculous movement. They were all innocents, they did not have criminal records, they were not resisting arrest and they had lives to yet unfold. They could have been athletes and stars, instead their lives were taken in DEMOCRAT run streets, which of course makes them invisible.
These absolutely worthless people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on ugly dresses to spend three hours congratulating each other on how phony they all are. Has anybody even given any thought to how much help that money could be to the poor they insist they care about?
Hollywood is the epitome of hypocrisy.
Saw the first teaser trailer for the new Dune film coming out later this year - they have changed one book character (Liet Kynes) from a white man to a black woman.
Remove all microphones from the stage!
The left has pretty much destroyed every American institution. I am hard pressed to think of what has not been touched by their sh*tty hands.
Awesome, I will enjoy NOT WATCHING them more than ever...
It boggles the mind that even a million people would tune in for this trash. I mean, the families of the nominees cant be THAT big.
They’re trying but this website
I guess I won’t watch it anymore. Oh wait, the last time I watched was 20 years ago. Never mind.
Call me when Studios are directing 30% of their movie profits to “people of color” ... until then it is all grand standing.
For me, I never watched the Oscars again after “Shakespeare In Love” was selected over “Saving Private Ryan”.
Of course, THIS is what they have been working towards for a long, long time.
I never, and will never watch these reprobates who make their living pretending to be something or someone their not!
The only reason I had even HEARD of Moonlight was because it won the Oscar.
It was never released in more than a few theaters in its first run.
So I watched it and was immediately unimpressed.
No real plot, and I didn't really care about the characters.
Sure checked off all of the "woke" categories, but other than that, a waste of time.
I never saw it and have no clue what it’s about. I just saw the talk about it regarding its wokeness to realize I would not be interested.
We will watch old Perry Mason shows.
The new Perry Mason show has Della Street as a lesbian, and she and her younger lover were getting it on the new tv show.
My wife reached over and grabbed the remote and went to the old Perry shows.

Don’t the Oscar statues need to be updated. They need to be different colors, and sexes.
