Oh, no, no never ever call the cops for anything but obvious beating, molesting, etc child abuse-they will get CPS involved and a possibly innocent parent may have their child not only put into an iffy foster home but possibly adopted by someone-I learned to hate CPS early on when I did my internship before graduation there-they are horrible, relentless child stealers-they get bonuses and kudos for each child they remove from natural parents...
nice
The mom says she told them he was unarmed. No weapon was found.
Any parent who hit their kid, even if he’s autistic and/or violent, in the head with a brick, or tazed him, would be charged with child abuse, be thrown in jail, and lose their child. “He was out of control”, wouldn’t be an accepted defense. The police are allowed to do such things, but NOT parents. If your child came at you with a weapon, you MAY get lucky and get a sympathetic D.A. or jury, but first they’d take away custody and throw you in jail.
I don’t know. Maybe there was some miscommunication in the dispatch? Because no weapon was found. The mom says she called to ask for help to take her son to the hospital.
I’ll have to try that some time.
lets listen to the 911 tape
“Id be thrilled if maybe once in a while one of the cops would have a taser or bean-bag round ready.”
Prepare for a thrill.
On 9-5 (I think), a black guy in body armor, armed with multiple AR15’s, pistols, and a shotgun attacked a Bass Pro Shops MegaStore in Spanish Fort, AL. He fired some 50 rounds into the boat repair section of the building, but by some miracle no one was hit. The astounding thing is that while the guy was heading to the main entrance, the police subdued him with a TASER. Satisfactory details have not been forthcoming on how that could be, but apparently it did happen.
Yep. Keppra and then Lamictal. I hate keppra, but it works for some people.
Autistic kids are more prone to seizures, so I was wondering if that happened with the kid.
I have seizures and took Keppra and now lamotrgine. The lamotrigine is working pretty well for me. I still have an occasional seizure.
"There is no situation that calling the cops will not make worse"
You do not instantly obey your masters, get shot....
I have trouble being instructed by those clearly more stupid than me, so best avoid cops.
Cops made sure the hospital trip was for a good reason....
I Thought you might be able to do it. Good for you.
Next try to consistently present your position as rationally as you just did, but without the anger and drop the puerile cop-hating snark which makes you seem just a variation of BLM.
“Any group is only as bad as the worst psycho they dont get rid of”.
So they are all as bad as their worst by definition, ipso facto.
oky doke
Odd that you’re the only one who sees that. Maybe it’s you?
No worries, jackboot lickers gotta lick them shiny jackboots; without double standards, they’d have no standards at all.
“At best thats clever but empty rhetoric”
I agree. We are being presented with a false choice. Either we have unrestrained, unaccountable police, or we have no police. The most absurd is ‘no police’. There is no such thing as ‘no police’. Someone will be the police. If you think police with badges are bad, wait until you get the ones with MS-13 tattoos. What we need is to strive for is better police. And, IMHO, that starts with reforming prosecutors.
Sometimes they even continue to be a copsucker even after they or a loved one had a VERY bad interaction with a bad cop.
Some people LIKE their chains!
Expecting police to alter their behavior with a special needs child is foolishness. Cops are generally a one-size-fits-all proposition.
1. If you don’t listen to them they will assault or kill you even if you’re deaf.

2. Even if you’re not the autistic man who isn’t a threat to anyone the police will do their best to kill you.

3. Being blind is no excuse for not seeing what the police want from you.

4. Being confined to a wheelchair is no excuse for not walking away when the police tell you to.
