Gators helping Gators.
A 660-pound alligator from St. Augustine needed to see a doctor because his right rear leg was hurt. On Thursday, Bob was transported from St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park to the University of Floridas College of Veterinary Medicine.
The 38-year-old reptile was soon evaluated and found to have a bone infection after having radiographs done.
Preliminary evaluation showed evidence of osteomyelitis, the UF vet official account tweeted. Our zoo med team will continue to monitor his progress. Good luck Bob (& Go Gators!)
Bob remains on the mend.
Hes responsive to zoo staff today, on pain meds & will soon start antibiotic therapy.
Go Gators!
Gator is huge! Too big for my screen!
Oops. It’s a big gator.
Dude, those pics won’t even fit on my 60” plasma TV.......
He wants to go to Portland.
Oooh, no! They took him from his home!
Go, go, go ‘gator!
Oooh, no! He’s got a bad leg bone!
Get better, gator!
Neither would the gator.
I was able to see the gator’s head on my tiny cell phone. That thing is HUGE!
Hope the “little” guy doesn’t wake up during the procedure.
UF has a world famous vet school — this story is all the rage on the first coast at the moment. At least until the hurricanes start to threaten.
LOL! And just when you thought you’d bought the biggest T.V. in the neighborhood...
Love this. A healthy Bob could be strategically released in certain cities right around supper time.
Good on UF. Get better Bob.

Good to see Bob’s on the mend. We may need him. The season’s starting soon.
Go Gators!
I couldn’t care less about college football this year. It’s gonna be a farce.
Hurricanes often threaten in August but then the season starts and they’re reduced to tropical depressions in no time.
Hi Bob! Lookin’ good.
