One for the record books.

Worse, PG&E says they'll have to cut power in 17 counties in the state starting Monday night due to fire risk from high winds.

As soon as the floods come it'll all be worth it lol

Yeah, a lot of good all those windmills and solar panels are doing.

You mean where the giant spiders come up out of the ground and grab the neighbors?

Yep.

Happened back in 2015.

There’s always a silver lining. In this case, we can argue it’s too late to do anything about climate change until it changes back to colder weather.

On a serious note, I hope you get relief soon. We had about a week of bad smoke in Colorado too, it has gone away where we are, but there are some north of Denver getting smoke now from a fire NW of there.

What are you talking about.

It’s always hot in summer.

Some years more than others.

We had a bad fire and smoke season here in the Treasure Valley back in ‘06 or ‘07 (or maybe both years).

It was bad until October, when the rains usually start.

AQI right now in Boise is 153.

Everybody up in burn country, stay safe and keep your ears open. Someone I know escaped the Lightning Fire with seconds to spare. Had to open barn and gates for livestock, but PGE turned off power. Then it was a question of running for their lives or wandering in the dark barn to open the horse stalls. Seriously, the fire swept through with little warning and like a hurricane. Luckily all of this family were safe, and most of the animals. But now dealing with the pain about the beloved animals who didn’t make it as well as the moonscape...and what to do?
So, have your car packed now with essentials and don’t hesitate to leave if it comes your way!

Nope, because I’m not clever enough to know what an AQI is.

In Minneapolistan it will be in the 80’s today. Lows will be in the 40’s this week.

Weather changes all the time.
Be safe out there.

You think you got it bad? Right now in Bakersfield they’re at 110 degrees and the air quality over the last few days is almost impossible. All the smoke and exhaust blowing down from the north through the San Joaquin on winds from 10 to 16 mph is piling up bad air against grapevine and they are usually having trouble any. This just adds insult to injury. Their current air quality index (AQI) is at 100 and they have had a recent high of 139, 11 points below the max. There’s worse elsewhere.

In Vietnam in 1969 we were in the “sticks” with napalm and high humidity. Smoke from the firefight was thick and it was hard to catch a breath. We destroyed a few clicks of land during that weekend...collateral. That might qualify.

out here the weather report included known record highs and lows for each day. Usually there is a sixty to eighty degree difference.

Gave me something to mull over when being told that what ever day is hottest or coldest.
