A search on the web said something like there are no desk tops with built in sound. Just laptops and the all in one computers-which was my old one.
My speakers are old, but they still worked on the computer when I took them off to see if they would work. The light won’t even come on when I plugged them in to the speaker dealeo in the back.
I don’t have a clue about configurations. I typed some questions into my screen’s search bar and some diagnostic stuff ran but came up empty.
I am so techno challenged. Thanks.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a new report warning about a potential electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack against the U.S.
DHSs warning published Thur. (Sept. 2), or about 60 days until the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 3, indicates there are evolving threats against the American homeland, most recently highlighting efforts to combat an Electromagnetic Pulse attack which could disrupt the electrical grid and potentially damage electronics.

So, this is a desktop. I thought you got a new laptop.
You are right about needing external speakers with a desktop.
The most likely thing to check is if they are plugged into the right jack. It should be the lime green one. Also, make sure that the external speakers are turned on. Verify that you are using amplified speakers, if you are using passive speakers they may not be getting enough signal to make any sound.
Good luck, again.
