“Many people use statistics the way a drunk uses a lamp post - more for support than illumination.”
Excellent quote.
I get stuck at RR crossings frequently on my way to work. Some of the containers are green with white lettering spelling EVERGREEN (evergreen shipping line) The coincidence never occurred to me until this week.
Every drain plug hole I’ve ever seen is threaded to accept a brass plug. It can be tightened down to where nobody would have enough leverage under water to unscrew it with Wrench.
Why on earth would anyone use that wine stopper contraption? I carry an extra plug and even it too is brass, tied to a float as an emergency spare. I’d never consider a wine stopper.
great post
Thanks, I'd not gotten around to posting that one, which is weird, because I'm usually a huge procrastinator. ;^)
not related but kind of...I had a 78 impala oil drain plug stripped by an oil change place. They put in a rubber finger and it blew out about 50 miles away. I was able to find that “wine stopper” to replace the oil pan plug. Worked right up until I sold the car.
This is a special case. You gotta do the maffs to know what's up.

Smaller alumninum fishing boats, Jon boats mostly have the stopper type plug.
My 1st boat (1969 20ft in/out tri-hull} had the stopper plug as did most boats from that era.
Had a 1980 17 ft bow ridder with outboard, it also had the stopper plug.
1992 Bayliner in/out did have the brass plug, needed to use a wrench to remove and install.
In all my years of boating involving dozens of boats have never seen a stopper plug come out.
The problem has always been failure to install before launching.

Good morning.
1. To the person who made up the “plug sabotage thing”, please beat yourself with a bat wrapped in barbed wire.
2. There’s as still photo of an Antifa rioter dancing with his feet on fire. It should generate a lot of good memes.
3. Sweden, which never locked down, etc., now has a lower death rate per million from the virus than the locked down USA.
Yeah we do
Yes hes done well for us. He will have a good home when he retires.
I thought I was the only one.

I bet there were birthing stations and a lab at the Zorro ranch.
