Penn State's director of athletic medicine said Monday that roughly one-third of Big Ten athletes who have tested positive for COVID-19 have heart inflammation, according to the Centre Daily Times.
Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli said during a State College Area school board of directors meeting that 30% to 35% of the infected athletes showed signs of myocarditis on their MRIs. Concern over the condition was at least part of the reason the Big Ten canceled its fall football season.

I thought they were not playing, so that the players could not get COVID. Now we find that they all have COVID anyway?
Why does the story not say HOW MANY athletes have COVID?
Also, I think they should test EVERY athlete for this enlarged heart thing, since they say that asymptomatic covid+ people have it.
Something stinks with this.
They just make this shit up everyday...
Before or after?
So out of all the Division I schools this Doctor is the only one to discover this affliction?
Sounds like this guy went to the Fauci the Fraud - House Brix school of reporting.
Yes and if true...the NFL needs to shut the season down because the same would be true for pro players as well.
Just released! The Doctor has clarified his comments and claimed they were taken out of context. The whole story was fake news.
Athletes can have enlarged hearts in many cases developed because of rigorous training. It is not dangerous.
The flu also can cause myocarditis and other cardiac problems.
Let’s see how those symptoms are in 3-6 months.

I asked my girlfriend monthss ago, not long after all this nonsense began and we were already sick of it, “when do you think the first day will be when we don’t hear or see the words coronavirus or covid-19 in the news?
At the time we were hoping sometime in July. Well, that didn’t happen. Now I’m hoping for next July.
Can I just go to sleep until then? I’ll wake up, check the news, and if either of those words appear in the first few minutes of looking around, I’ll go back to sleep in three-month increments until this is gone.
I can’t stand it anymore. My faith in humanity, which was shaken before all this began, has fallen so far in the last few months, I would rather not leave my house. I’m just done with it.
this.....
I've always thought that the brain problems that they are pushing for the nfl players begs the question....do other young men get this?...miners?..firemen?...cops?...how about marathon runners.?
Yep. Shut it down. Shut it all down.
It’s okay to put on your mask, walk twenty feet to your restaurant table, and then take your mask off for the next 45 minutes while you sit there eating, drinking, and talking, 6.1 feet from another diner who’s doing the same. That’s okay.
But shut everything else down until no one ever gets sick or dies from anything.
The sad thing is, there are those who actually take this stuff seriously. Still, at this stage of the game. Still, in this chapter of the unfunny comedy.
