Penn State's director of athletic medicine said Monday that roughly one-third of Big Ten athletes who have tested positive for COVID-19 have heart inflammation, according to the Centre Daily Times.
Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli said during a State College Area school board of directors meeting that 30% to 35% of the infected athletes showed signs of myocarditis on their MRIs. Concern over the condition was at least part of the reason the Big Ten canceled its fall football season.

It appears this happens with most viruses and other infections. Its probably not much different if an athlete has the flu and misses a week or so...
The obvious next step is to check all the non-covid athletes to see if they have heart inflamation.
Yes, we need effective vaccines to end this “covid” pandemic.
There is a lot about the effects of the virus we don’t know. This is one of them!!!! The “long-hauler” phenomenon is another. It’s not just about old people!!
Besides that, we need to end the reasons for masking, social distancing, contact tracing, etc.—and for future totalitarian social controls. Back to Normal!!!!

Even many high school sports now require heart tests for kids. I’m sure this is even more so the case for kids going to play on scholarships with all the $ at stake. Just my .02.
Meanwhile tomorrow night our local high schools will hit the gridiron for game 2 of this season.

Not surprising after it’s been revealed those who died from covid have underlying illnesses that are serious.....and most over 60.
Actually. It’s not. If you search Covid and myocarditis you will find reports since March.
A competent researcher would be able to supply the percentage that test negative for Corona that have myocarditis.
