The majority of Americans think the federal government’s response to the coronavirus outbreak is actually making the country worse, according to a new poll released Tuesday.

Sixty percent of participants think the federal government’s initiatives are making the coronavirus pandemic worse, indicating that the government might be part of the problem, according to an Axios-Ipsos poll, whereas 39 percent think the federal government’s actions are making the crisis better.

The survey’s results, as reported by Axios-Ipsos, revealed a “stark partisan divide” as 74 percent of Republicans thought the federal government was making the recovery better, while 80 percent of Democrats agreed the federal government was making the recovery worse. Most independents, or 68 percent, believed the federal government was making the recovery worse.

Twenty-five percent of Republicans indicated that the federal government’s response was making the recovery worse and 19 percent of Democrats thought the government was making the recovery better.

Sweden has not had a death in over a week. Their numbers are no longer reported on Worldometers. Trump doesn’t even mention them.

Something is very wrong with this picture.

The number is misleading. Of he 60%, perhaps half want more masks and more lockdowns and more testing, and the other half want to protect the vulnerable and go for herd immunity. No way to please them all.

It’s the state and local governments that are screwing things up.

Just confirms what I have thought for decades.

The majority of people have no idea how their government functions.

We want to see less noise from disgruntled special interests and more common sense. We have an election to win. If you keep pushing for the Democrats, you’ll lose the freedom to even try to start or manage another service business in your lifetime.

“The government’s handling of the pandemic will be at the top of voters’ minds during the presidential election, which is just a little more than two months away. According to the Axios-Ipsos poll, 45% of Americans trust Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden to provide them with accurate information about the coronavirus, while 31% trust Trump to give accurate information.”

"Federal?? It's the state & local tyranny monkeys that are bringing all the pain."

Good catch. That's exactly right. I sometimes forget what the people in Democrat states allowed to happen.
