I think a friend who adopted a Russian newborn did not have to go to court, aside from the adoption.
Using a surrogate is really nothing different than an adoption.
I know the “gay adoption” thing gets folks worked up. But as a matter of “law”, I don’t think this is way off course.

I feel the same. If they are both US citizens and this is a legal deal then best regards to them both. It isn’t as though this child is an anchor baby.

I remember a while back, there was a case involving an adopted child who was born in a foreign Country, was adopted by an American couple (court issued the adoption papers) and grew up in America. The child (grown at the time of the case) was being deported because the adoptive parents hadnt secured citizenship. Ill see if I can find the case.
