Found this article from 2017 on Rand Paul and President Trump's relationship. Some interesting bits in there about how Trump respects Rand and it appears to be mutual.

I wish Republicans were against ACA, it’s a terrible law. I wish Republicans would oppose Mitch Schumer.

Please remember that without *Sarah Palin’s* endorsement, Rand Paul likely would not have won the 2010 KY Senate primary: which was a 5-way race very heated. And a lot of Republican voters needed reassurance about voting for the son of Ron Paul. Palin’s endorsement shifted the polls in Rand’s favor overnight, catapulting him to the top . She is responsible for the Tea Party wave that helped fend off some of the most extreme elements of the Obama agenda and paved the way for President Trump to take on the GOP establishment to win the nomination for the presidency in 2016.

Just FYI!

“Senior administration officials tell me.. “

By Jonathan Swan. That is the very first sentence in this ‘story’. This guy Swan is a liar and has been lying probably his whole career, but geez, we’ve been dealing with this same preface to stories every day of the Trump Presidency.

“He spends a lot of time on the phone with him, listening patiently as Trump rattles on about his latest rounds of golf and, per one administration official, “all kinds of random stuff.” “

Yeah, that Trump just rattles on about golf and random stuff, that’s all he does, all the time.

A personal friendship can thrive when there’s not a chance of a hanky panky, transactional, business relationship.

Trump doesn’t have time to bloviate on the phone about his golf game, Trump works all the time.

Maybe you can explain something to me I don’t understand. I’m thinking if someone assaulted a Senator so badly that a piece of his lung had to be removed. And it was a cold assault it wasn’t even like there was an argument, I assume that person’s going to receive a stiff punishment. Probably worse than he would if he just assaulted his no name neighbor. But somehow Rand Paul’s neighbor assaulted him and ends up getting a slap on the wrist. Not that I think senators are that great, because I honestly don’t, but I think if you assaulted just your generic neighbor so badly part of their lung had to be removed, you’d get longer than a 30-day sentence. Did this get neighbor get virtually get out of jail free card because how is it like in the courts or something? I don’t get it.
