Maybe you can explain something to me I don’t understand. I’m thinking if someone assaulted a Senator so badly that a piece of his lung had to be removed. And it was a cold assault it wasn’t even like there was an argument, I assume that person’s going to receive a stiff punishment. Probably worse than he would if he just assaulted his no name neighbor. But somehow Rand Paul’s neighbor assaulted him and ends up getting a slap on the wrist. Not that I think senators are that great, because I honestly don’t, but I think if you assaulted just your generic neighbor so badly part of their lung had to be removed, you’d get longer than a 30-day sentence. Did this get neighbor get virtually get out of jail free card because how is it like in the courts or something? I don’t get it.

I agree though it seems lenient. Many Freepers suggested if it was Schumer assaulted he would have got the maximum (10 years).
